what about springfields that were slums before the event started?

Then the slum houses might make it look too pretty and you lose!!! Of course.

I'm stocking up....it will be after the even for me as I'll need to buy new land but I've already got like 20 buildings in storage.

There is plenty outside of the screenshot that could fill in the green spaces. My favela hasn't found its final resting place yet.

@JonOfMeans only suggestion, they borders/boundaries are way too clean and straight. :) ragged the neighbourhoods edges. Most of those houses were built in any direction the would fit. Just a suggestion. :)

Yeh, I think I'll add some trees in the final placement as well.

I think I'll ad more variety in the elevations too. I intend to work in the barro as well
