I have just finished friends visits, and found that you get 1 bauble and 1 festive hat per tap. I am fairly sure it was the first 50 taps only that count, so by the 17th friend you only get 2 of the 3 taps give you currency.
I have moved my Simpsons house (new landing zone ) to a large open space so it is easier to see any present drops. When dropping presents in neighbours towns, I tried to find an open space so it easier for them to see too. There appears to be a limit on how many presents a town may hold or receive on one day too - in some towns I couldn't drop a present.
