The totum was in the game files forever and if memory serves me correctly
It was supposed to be released back with kamp krusty but was not.
Flash forward to x-mas 2013 and it was released as the x-mas totum.

Like said above, it's been in the files for quite a while before being a prize in Xmas 2013.
But the game even made fun of it, calling it the "Christmas" Totem (quotation marks included). :P

I got my Christmas Totem last night when I finished yesterday's Santa Quest. I do hope the snow melts after the holiday, but either way it's staying in my town. It has a nice heafty +2.5% modifier, which is awesome!

It was first released as Christmas totem with snow after rumors of it being part of Kamp Krusty correct? Just never got released until they renamed it and sent it into the wild later at Christmas?

As well as visually different, both are spelled and pronounced differently :mrgreen:
