Well I would not call it a waste. :) It does contribute to getting the community prizes.
By waste, I meant that you're not getting any tangible reward for it. Just one small step towards the larger prizes, which you're not exactly guaranteed to get. While I hear it's always been successful in the past, they were linked to overall event progression. This time you have to take affirmative steps to go towards the community prizes that don't benefit you in any other way. It should be interesting.
Agreed. It will be interesting to see if people think spending 500 AB to get one ball is worth it when the prize is going to take hundreds of millions of balls to unlock!
I assume we will have some way to see the progress on unlocking the prizes.
I don't know if we personally have to have some number of balls to get the prizes.
