I remember the episodes with the deaths of bleeding gums, Maude, and mama Simpson. And I remember crying during all three episodes (if I remember correctly, in each they showed the person, after death, in some cloud or dream state comforting someone special who was grieving. Thinking about it right now, two tears just dropped down each eye.) I never got over anyone I lost, so maybe those episodes are more sacred to me. But I honestly don't want them to bring them back, it sullies their memory and mocks their death.
I know I know, way too serious, it's just a cartoon. But never ending shows with heavy character development can make you grow a weird bond with the characters. Thinking of poor Flanders, all the flings he's had since, his Christian heart would crumble with guilt if Maude was somehow revived. Unless he decided it was ungodly or satanic...
