Actually if you follow that link to the source article on EuroGamer it has an update saying that in fact there was no password hack!
I changed mine anyway just in case... but it is kind of irresponsible for life hacker to not update their article once the "panic" flags had been removed.

Actually, it's less than clear exactly what's taken place. All we seem to know is that at least a few people appear to have had their accounts hijacked; but EA, in its public statements, is being typically coy and uninformative about the scope of the problem.
I chuckled when I read about the user who said that EA has "escalated" his problem. That has to be their favorite word. :-)
