I could never just choose one. I must stay true to the style of my normal posts, TL;DR and including my life's history- this time of music. I'd say throughout my life time of most repeated album/ most listened to it would be Bright Eyes, but I haven't listened to them in a long time and never got that into the newer stuff. I do still listen to his other band Desaparecidos which is way more rock and all fast paced. But still indie\alt rock.
Modest Mouse, Vampire Weekend, mewithoutYou, The Killers, Kimya Dawson, Songs:Ohia, Freelance Whales, Discovery, The Postal Service, Built to Spill, and Paul Baribeau are my "most listened to" on iTunes. I like all kinds of music though, including rap old and new, even radio music. As far as weird rap goes: Die Antwoord and Das Racist. neither speak in German, just sayin. Die Antwoord is crazy South African rap with a guy and a girl, both amazing (English speaking) rappers with awesome accents. Das Racist is more like Lonely Island as so many of you seem to love. "White rap"- Quarters, Flobots, Asher Roth, and Eminem. Oh I do like lonely island too.
But I also love non indie bands. My middle name was named after Bob Dylan, my uncle is a Doobie Brother (last name McFee, same as mine) and I also grew up listening to grateful dead, pink Floyd (saw The Wall when I was a little kid!), Jimi Hendrix, the Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Janis Joplin, the Pixies, the Cranberries, Oasis, Alanis Morrisette, etc etc. My dads been taking me to multiple concerts a year since I was 7 years old. Everything from (discluding previously mentioned bands) Nine Inch Nails to Miley Cyrus.
Old favorites would be Weezer, Blink182, Biggie Smalls, Aesop Rock, 50 cent and other radio rappers at that time, System of a Down (although I can no longer listen to them).. and techno/ gabber music when I was an ecstasy addict.
I also go to Philadelphia Folk Festival every year, so I love bluegrass and folk music.
