Friend Points - Deus Ex Machina?

This will definately breathe new life into the game for both old and new players i think :D
  • It will make people visit friends untill they collect everything, then after that it might die off unless they add more prizes for visiting.
  • I think it depends how often they update things. I got over 800 points just now visiting everyone on my friends list. If I do that every day, it would take about 2 weeks to get everything (I think 11,000 was what was said for the FPs to get everything). If they don't update it, then we're right back to where we were at that time.

For some people, anyway. I still play daily, anyway, still buying all the land. Once I'm done with that I may move all my krustyland-eligible folks there to earn tickets to buy all the land THERE...

I want to believe that they will frequently add new prizes

  • I see it as a temporary Krustyland. Excellent idea, just under executed. So while we collect these prizes, who knows when it will be updated with more prizes. Could be months, could be weeks. We will just have to see. I will be visiting more often until I have the prizes, then I will stop visiting. Even with the extra bonuses of cash and XP, I still don't need it.

Hopefully, you can bank some of the Friend Points and get a head start when they do come out with more prizes.
  • Yes , I think this is the purpose of the update is to give people incentives to visit neighbors. I don't think it will die away because this is a leveling system. So, when ea feels the time is right, they add more levels. Brilliant. Considering how crazy-go-nuts people are to collect every item, as long as ea keeps adding items, people will keep visiting. Or buy them with donuts so it's a win either way for ea. And us, really, because it keeps people invested in the game which makes it better for everyone.

And no, I don't work for ea, I just love this idea ;)
  • I think (depending on how this first run goes) it will continue to be updated in between events.

It'll take about 2 weeks to get all the items. Just in time for a small Saint Patrick's day event / questline. It keeps people interested in the game during that time. Additionally, since it introduces a new set of leveling up, and points reset at each level, it's more work to create the decoration than it is to actually expand the friendship levels, so it's really a small effort to keep players going between major efforts.

  • Strange thing is my wife made 810 Fp and i made 750 why???? i dont know ... this after finishing all taps

    can someine explain why?

    I think it's terrible.
Why??? It's a cheap lazy way of giving content without any thought or imagination.
Secondly Fix the servers!!! I've just given up visiting neighbours as it is taking ages to load and keeps crashing. How am I meant to even consider visiting 100/day???
Thirdly why reduce the amount as you progress through your neighbours? My username begins with m... Tats basically int he middle. Assuming people only visit 10/day to get 300 then I won't get visited. Noone will have the additional time to swipe all through to me to visit.

But this time, you have nothing to lose if they do not visit you, right? With the valentines, i received two extra hearts for each valentine I RECEIVED, so fewer friends visiting me meant I lost hearts.

This time, there's no loss to me if I receive ZERO visits, since I don't receive friend points that way.

Was that as confusing as I think it was? I said it badly... But IMHO this is EAs way of alleviating the losses that were caused to those with names late in the alphabet, when alphabetizing the list took effect.
