I never get Apple extended warranty. Of course, I live 10 miles from a store, and their customer care can't be beat. So long as its not physical damage or can be dealt with in store, just the cost of parts. Found that out by taking a 2nd hand iPod in because it wouldn't turn on. $10 and got it back an hour later.
