Ugh, farming. Not only do certain farmed towns look horrible, but people's dander gets all uppity here when it comes up for discussion.
I agree with what a lot of folks here have already said -- its your game, play as you will. If you find it takes too much time to accumulate cash, then build some houses and reap the benefits. And I also agree, it takes an awful lot of tapping to collect all that money.
But for the love of pete, please at least try to change things up a little. Yes, a block of identical brown houses might be easy to erect, but it will look like a tenement. I've seen at least one town that made some rows that looked like townhouses or semi-detached, so it wasn't too bad.
Personally, I've got about 25-28 houses (can't recall exactly) and I've tried hard to randomize the order of them for each "city block." Its like living in my real life suburb, where the developer has only 4-5 models and just spaces them out.
