John, I like them. One applies a stick of butter liberally to himself, one can hula dance to one side and the other one can pop corn with his hair. :D
Plus they're the size of the other characters, so don't get lost in town like, say, the dog who every month or so I accidentally get a glimpse of and think "oh, yeah. I forgot I bought that."

That's my favorite thing about NPC. You'll be scrolling around you town and then you see Santa's Little Helper, you click him, watch him spin, sit and bark. Maybe click him a couple more times, he's my favorite NPC and always makes me smile :P
I tripped over the robot dog the other day, forgot I even owned him.
