This is a mission that I would love to see made real and I would love to hear thoughts on it.

"Triffids attack Springfield"

Pt. 1

Frink - Good people of Springfield! I have made an astonishing discovery. Tonight there will be a meteor shower from Wyndham's Meteor.

Lisa - Wyndham's Meteor? That sounds like a vague attempt at including some author's name for the sake of this mission set.

Frink - Yes, well, the meteor will be emitting radiation the types of which we do not know the effects. It is my suggestion, therefore, that everyone remain indoors during the meteor shower. Otherwise we could have effects of blindness or mutation with the extra limbs and the groaning.

Cletus - Well, if we're goin' be indoors I might as well plant somethin' that'll do no harm overnight. I done an' planted these here triffids before and nuthin' ever happen.

Frink - Oh, dear god! The radiation has caused these harmless triffids to mutate into flesh-eating monsters!

Bart - Cool, man!

Lisa - I think I've read a book like this before...

Marge - Bart! Lisa! Look out! They're coming right toward you!

Lisa - AAHHHH!

Pt. 3

Homer - Wait a minute. These are just plants, right?

Frink - Yes, well, technically speaking...

Homer - So why don't I just use plant killer?

Apu - Oh, Mr. Homer. You are in luck. I am having a special on Krusty-brand Plant Killer at my store right now.

Homer - My, what a striking coincidence.

Make homer buy plant killer (2 hours)

Pt. 4

Homer - People of Springfield! Let us not be afraid of the plants that should be in our gardens and on our dinner plates! The time has come to fight back!

Moe - So, uh, you want us to form an angry mob for you then Homer?

Homer - Well, duh.

Moe - So what are we waiting for? Let's kick some plants!

Moe - All right! We've got them on the run!

Homer - Well, my work is done. Time for you to take over, giant finger in the sky.

Marge - Homer, who are you talking to?

Homer - Marge, what would you say if I told you we weren't real and were under the control of a higher power that controls our lives with the touch of a finger?

Marge - I'd say you're hallucinating from that triffid sting you got earlier.

Homer - I'm not hallucinating. Oh, look! A dog made out of chocolate!

Marge - .....

Pt. 6

Frink - Well, the crisis seems to have passed and the triffids are all but destroyed.

Blue-haired Lawyer - Wait just a minute there. Are you aware that you are in violation of the endangered species act? By having this rare species of plant this entire town is to be quarantined at once and triffids shall have free roaming rights.

Quimby - Now hold on there a minute. If I leave this town I'll be, er, uh, well that's not important. What is important that we keep our homes.

Marge - Perhaps a town meeting is in order to decide instead of the federal government deciding for us.

Blue-haired Lawyer - Very well, we shall give Democracy a chance. But I find it highly unlikely everyone in town will agree on a single solution that will benefit everyone.

Send Springfielders to a town meeting (12, 4 hours)

Pt. 7

Quimby - The people have spoken. So long as there remains at least one triffid alive in Springfield this town shall be protected under the endangered species act.

Lisa - But we can't let it roam free. What about the venomous whips?

Hibbert - Well, that's not a problem at all. I just happen to have an immunization shot ready for everyone in Springfield.

Lisa - Ow! Hey, you poked me!

Hibbert - Heh, heh! Yes. Yes, I did. That'll be $20 for the immunization.

Congratulations on keeping Springfield safe during the triffid attack. A triffid has been added to your inventory.

The triffid is a free-roaming NPC. Tap on it and 1 of 2 actions will happen. 1) Whip snaps out of the top. 2) Triffid shrivels and dies, a new one growing in its place (similar to Zombies)



Okay, so what does everyone think? First time putting a mission pitch together and I'd like to hear your thoughts. EA? Think maybe this is do-able? Hope this is in the right section, if not please move it to the appropriate one.
