And those 'new' tunnels are NOT Monorail friendly. I'm not sure what the point is unless you are a new player with no tunnels from previous events. Glad I only wasted 25 donuts to find out.
I tried to get one of my existing tunnels to line up with the bridge across the river. It's off by about ½ a small monorail piece. You can't shift the bridge and the tunnel only moves in tunnel-sized chunks. What's up? (I'll post a screen shot later...)

Can you build a full track on land, and then use the Area Select Tool to bring it preassembled over to the gorge?
