Face it, you wouldn't visit a forum in the first place, unless for getting either information, or discuss matters you have opinions about. Of course that means you can hit it off with someone, or find someone you dislike. Either way, a lot of off-topic threads (in places they really don't belong) make a forum messy. Goodbye-threads is certainly nothing interesting to discuss at said forum. You do of course have the right to disagree :)

Personally I have never really been that interested in the people not present in a current debate, what interests me is the ones I am debating with at any given time...

I don't have time to send everyone a pm, it's easier to post it, you don't have to read it or look at it. Personally I don't care whats on here, if I don't like what I see I don't read it,simple as that.
