Same thing also. As part of the level 40 storyline I got a task/quest for Smithers to go dancing with Krusty and Hoover and every time I clicked on the task button for Smithers it found Burns each time. Couldnt find Smithers anywhere; it was driving me nuts so in the end I just put burns manor in the inventory and got him back that way... weird :?
