Release older buildings for newer players!
Well, many of the items were limited time or tied to episodes, so it wouldn't make sense to release them again. They have released some old items here and there so you never know though.

Oh, you are... You got rewarded by getting most of the previous stuff for free, and now newer players have to pay donuts for them. This generates income for EA, which then chooses to make additional content, to reward all their players!
How many times do you need to get rewarded for playing a freemium game? Isn't this enough, or do some of the older players want to have golden statues inside the game, which other players could buy? (Or perhaps we are just left to admire those golden statues in your towns, even though we aren't, and never will become your neighbours).
