No way. Why should new players get all the same buildings as someone who has been playing so much longer? I get so jealous whenever i see the Itchy and Scratchy balloons in my friends town because i REALLY want them, but i wasn't playing it at that time so understand.
The whole point of limited items is that once they are gone, they are gone. You need to be playing at that time to get them.
Why indeed? It's already alot of good arguments why we should get everything back eventually. Just read what has already been written, and you can try to argue against all the valid arguments for why we should get them back, instead of what nonsense you are saying... What you have written isn't a valid argument, sorry try again.
No there are not a lot of good arguments as to why they should release everything back, it's just a bunch of people (aiming this at you) whining because you missed out on previous buildings/characters because you weren't playing at the time. Like i said why should new players get EVERYTHING that a player who was been playing for 1/2 years get? That would make it unfair, boring and everyones town would look the same and have the exact stuff in.
Maybe you should try again with your so called valid points.
One might begin to question the logical sense some players writing on these forums may have... Though that is a philosiphical question I'll not further elaborate upon.
First of all, how on earth are you going to get two almost identical Springfields, even if everyone had access to all the stuff? If people actually try decorating, and putting some efforts into their town, you'll probably never ever get two Springfields looking alike. Even if someone really tries hard to copy another town, it'll be really hard.
Secondly, why do you even care so much what other people's Springfields look like? Are you playing this game to show off you own SF, and to do that, you get a superior feel if you have access to some items few others have? Then I'm sorry to say, that even though you have some other items, it doesn't necessarily make you SF cooler than others, simply because creativity is what you need - might be you are creative, I don't know...
And this is the third point, I'll probably NEVER see your SF, and you'll probably never see my SF, so why do you care so much what my SF looks like? I don't give a crap about yours, so please don't care for mine either.
So since you'll probably never see my SF, why don't you want me to enjoy the game to the fullest? Just because you happened to download this game before me, doesn't make you better than me, or superior to me. It seems it just made you more egosentric, I guess someone would make a similarity to a Donkeys behind, but I raise above such namedropping... ;)
By the way, I'm not whining at all, but I have opinions on this matter, and I'm not afraid to voice them. If I don't get the chance to acquire some of the previous content I have missed, then that's really EA's loss, not mine. I'd actually save money, so I'm the better for it. But the core of the problem is that you, tyleerxo and your like-minded persons, doesn't seem to understand that re-releasing previous content greatly benefits YOUR game. You see, EA makes content to earn money, and the more they earn, the more content updates we'll get. When the day comes where EA don't earn enough, they may discontinue the game, and maybe even just shut down the servers. Then I hope you'll greatly enjoy all those limited items you have gotten in-game, which you fought so "bravely" to have for yourself, while you can't ever access your game...
You have to understand that most people don't play this game for more than a year, so if EA re-releases previous limited content, they can pretty much be guaranteed alot of sales. And actually, there isn't really that many old-timers left to complain... Espescially since many of the old-timers or veterans of this game, doesn't even seem to share your points of view, though some does (I acknowledge that fact, as sad as that is).
As for me, I'm only playing this game for my own enjoyment. I don't really care what all you other people playing this game does. If I don't enjoy this game anymore, I'll stop playing, again regardless of what others do here. And what I enjoy the most, is actually the written dialogue. So I want all the characters first and foremost, and some of the skins, because of that. Now HOW does this affect your obviously "cool" and "surely better looking than my" town, tyleerxo? (Oh, I haven't even gotten to the point in this game where I really decorate my SF, as it takes alot of time to acquire all the land).
EDIT: Now I did name you, tyleerxo, in this post, since you named me, which is fine, since I prefer aiming at someone. But really, my post could be directed at any person sharing your views on the matter.
EDIT2: Oh, you also made a point for not wanting EVERYTHING back... Well, if other players could access everything, they'd enjoy their game more. Then they'll probably shell out more money in the long run. I'd be fine with that. I'd actually be pretty happy if some new players came along and bought EVERYTHING. That means EA surely will keep this game alive for quite some time, as the profit rises. I win, EA win, the new player win, though some old farts ego might lose... (No one named this time around ;) )
Okay, i get your point about no two towns being exact or similar, i just meant that if everyone town had the exact stuff i would personally find it boring. I actually like going to my neighbours towns and seeing older limited buildings/characters/skins that i don't have. Do i get slightly jealous? Yes. Do i want them for my town? Yes. But i just think to myself "damn it, if only i was playing longer".
And while i don't mind you aiming your points at me, one point you are completely completely off is this whole i want to feel superior bla bla and show off my SF. So wrong. If you actually saw my SF (which you never will) but although i have a variety of some limited things, my SF is nothing special, nor do i particularly care, i haven't properly decorated it and right now i can't really be bothered to.
You points about profit and EA making more money, for me i couldn't care less about how much money EA makes off this game. I'm guessing it is a lot considering it's in the top 3 highest grossing apps in the charts, so i'm sure this app isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
But again you are so wrong in your thoughts that i don't want new players to "enjoy the game" and i get a superior satisfaction bla bla, because honestly i have only been playing this game for about 7/8 months and if you did see my town you would see i haven't got many limited things apart from some of the tie-in stuff. I just don't think it's fair for someone starting completely new to get offered everything that someone who has been loyal and been playing for years has.
Usually, the people upholding the same views as you display in your posts, feel better than others/seem to be elitist, based on having previous limited items. That's why I automatically argued the way I did. Now as it seem you're not holding the usual view from someone upholding your side of this debate, I have to admit I think it's even more strange you defend "the other side".
This is a game, for the full experience you usually have to pay for some exclusive content. The players true to this game, and which has played for a while, will usually have the benefit of getting quite alot of that content for free. This is the way EA awards consistent players. I actually think this is a very good reward in itself. As I now am slowly starting to turn into a long-time player myself, I'm really happy to get some content without paying for it. But I don't see any reason as to why new players, shouldn't be offered this content themselves, espescially if it costs donuts? We who play the events, have gotten them for free, thus been rewarded for playing. It's NOT a reward to pay donuts for these items.
It's not like if EA offers previous limited items again, that they give it out for free again. In my opinion it's solely a good thing to offer previous content again for new players, although if it costs donuts. Espescially since this ascertains that EA makes money.
Now you said you don't care if EA make money or not on this game, but if you love the game, you SHOULD care about this fact. Profit to EA equals a good possibility for yet more updates, no profit for EA, equals a good chance the game will be discontinued. So everything that gives EA more money is a boon to everyone enjoying this game (as it will likely ascertain that the game continues for a while longer). And as already mentioned, the people playing through the updates do get their reward in the form of free characters, skins, buildings, decorations and even donuts.
Do you propose that this isn't enough of a reward? Do some items need to be exclusive, and if so, why? The ones getting anything exclusive, will probably never be a neighbour to players starting after the availability of those exclusive items, meaning there will be content almost no players ever get to see. That seems like quite pointless prizes to make on EA's behalf, when they could rather make something many players want, and let it be available for only limited times, perhaps once a year, thus creating a buzz for certain things, and almost ascertain they earn more money next time those items gets available.
