Maybe the characters from the stores that are inside the mall could also leave and roam Springfield as well.

Ned his shop is a great idea.
Maybe it might be possible to, just like krusty land, open shops, while you (the player, not character) are in the Springfield mall. A few shops with new characters and of course a new Ned Skin, for his shop.
Maybe the stores we already have can be placed in this mall? Clears out extra space for new buildings in our main town :)
