Star Management star rating.
Can you increase the star rating of the characters by playing the game, or is it just by donuts? If by playing, how does that work? I can't seem to figure it out.

Each time you sent them to perform they increase. Tap the trophy and then scroll to the last icon on the left and it shows progress.
