"The Republican Party is in a horrible, poorly united state; but, I don't see it disappearing in the near future. Remember: Republicans control the house. They would not do so if the party is on its death knell.
The Republicans can skate by with a lack of a platform as long as Democrats remain disagreeable in their platform. Obamacare is guaranteed to give Republicans the ammunition they need to live another day. If the Republican Party falls apart, it will be from an ideological schism and not because the lack of popular support. Not many people have supported Republicans for years; but, there are still many people who hate the Democrats enough to vote for any opposition regardless of platform."
I understand what you're saying but I still feel that the party is on the way out. It would have to drastically change and it doesn't appear to want to. I think we're going to see some hail mary passes and then failure. They're the last breath of an America that isn't straight/white/male/conservative oriented anymore. They haven't changed with the times. Obviously it isn't going to be the next election but probably within a decade something will happen to them. - Did the Koch brothers start this thread?

They make fun of the left, too. Relax. But we all know saying anything bad about Obama labels you a racist so they'll steer clear of that.
Lemme guess... You're a straight, white male, right?

I don't understand how people can be against fiscal responsibility.derek1mg wrote:
An equal amount of people identify with the Tea Party politics as they do Obama.
If that was true Mitt Romney would be president. Tea Party Repugs live in a world of make-believe that rivals my nephew's. (He is four.)
Now I understand that neither Democrats nor Republicans are actually fiscally responsible; but, I still can't believe how leftists can be so vehemently critical against the Tea Party, grass roots or not, for arguing for it. Fiscal responsibility is just common sense.
well I'm from the UK and my limited understanding of the Tea Party Repugs is that they are all for fiscal responsibility as long as the poor pay for it and the rich get their tax reductions.- I want to become a member of the "I'm an aero plane!" party.
- Well aren't you all some extremely well programmed sheep? Keep banging on the left/ right facade gong until you are all deaf to go along with being blind.
- I'm British anyway so it made no difference to me, I got free stuff!!!
- I love politics it allways bring out the best in people   I do a lot of kidding. But if people can't debate properly and respect others fews then we shouldn't be having a discussion. Debate by all means but don't argue
