Just thought of this while watching Treehouse of Horror VIII...why not a Halloween event with the Springfield mutants? You could make it just like the Stonecutters event (widely considered the best)....

This year's event is already based on classic monster movies, with Count Burns, Frinkenstein, Werewolf Flanders, and Blinky Monster, plus Filmmaker Lisa and the whole making-a-monster-movie plot and theme.
