I'm a new player who started with the alien invasion. I was playing as usual and had a ton of resources I collected from it that I didn't craft into anything yet even though I had enough for it (like the great pumpkin, the queen) since I was trying to collect as much as possible first.
I went to visit a friend's town today and it said I couldn't because they had newer content and that I had to update, so I went to update not realizing the update would get rid of everything I earned during the alien invasion. That was time wasted for nothing because I didn't even get a chance to craft anything out of the resources. If I knew the update was going to erase it all, I would have taken care of that stuff first.
There should really be a warning for people new to the game that it works that way. I figured it was like Sims Freeplay where updates add content, but don't delete anything you collected during the old ones. If resources from updates don't carry over in Tapped Out, then there should be warnings in the game before you update so you know what you're going to lose.
Unless I'm missing something and all of my resources are still buried somewhere in the game available for me to craft?
Not being funny but there was a timer telling you when the event was going to end, you should have cashed in all your stuff before the time was up to be safe than sorry.
But saying that i was a bit gutted I wanted 1 more spooky wall before getting rid of the update but my iPad automatically updated without asking, guess it will be another year now before I can finish my wall around my graveyard area. Unless EA add packs of spooky walls at a reasonable price, wish they was there all year round.
Well, from her post she was a new player and had completely different expectations of the update. And we were able to keep crafting for a day and a half after the counter expired, so I can see how it was confusing for a new player. Several other people have posted on the forum how they wish more guides or instructions were included with the game.
Anyway, I expect the spooky walls will return next Halloween, this was their 2nd year after all. I know it would be frustrating, but maybe you can use a cobblestone wall and cover it up with a tree or some other decoration?
