Pretty much all of the above. I'm working hard to get my money up again although like you've said event's don't normally cost much, but you cant always make much during them!. I have donuts waiting,...

I nuked my town mid-monorail in anticipation of the annual Halloween update and have a decent monorail setup that could be expanded easily if we ever get add one to that content. I've been redesigning my Springfield and didn't setup any of the "Halloween/THOH" area.
Now:
-putting out/positioning the decorations shortly (jack-o-lanterns, spooky trees, eat.)
-changed over the church to "heck house"
-switched the radioactive man statue to the creepy skin
-stocked tons of Springfield cash to buy decorations in large qty, for better decor next year and any new content.
-been saving as many donuts as possible... We all know why!
-stock piling craftables in SH.
-kept all characters on either 1-4 hr tasks or crafting monorail/SH in order to get right to business when we get the update. (If I'm awake)
-have waited on neighbor visits (I will make up the visits during the event).
-deleted inactive neighbors and have posted in the add me sticky thread. (Hope to max neighbors before the event starts)
Can't wait for the event! Happy tapping friends. :-)
