I am more upset by the insensitive comments made by some people in this post than the content of the game itself. People choose to say what they want. And what does it matter how I phrased the topic? I shouldn't have to explain why the quest upset me. Just to let everyone know, as with most mentally ill patients, my brother did not really get the help he needed. The hospital discharged him in 2 weeks and sent him on his way with some pills. He ended up committing suicide 2 years after the cat incident.
People need to be careful with what they say, and think about how their choice of words can affect someone. I'm sorry if I upset anyone with my topic.
There is absolutely NO WAY anyone could have guessed that there was a sad and tragic story behind your initial posts. Asking people to be sensitive to something they didn't know they had to be sensitive about is a bit much to ask. You can choose not to explain why you were so sensitive (which you did), but that just means you leave it open for others to be goofy or 'insensitive' as you call it.
Sure, there are certain well known 'taboo' subjects that people should always avoid making jokes about. However, jokes about a cartoon in a silly game eating a cat is not one of them.
I'm sorry about your brother, i know how devasting mental illness can be on a family. But it seems to me that you also have a lot of unresolved issues that you need to take care of.
