I am more upset by the insensitive comments made by some people in this post than the content of the game itself. People choose to say what they want. And what does it matter how I phrased the topic? I shouldn't have to explain why the quest upset me. Just to let everyone know, as with most mentally ill patients, my brother did not really get the help he needed. The hospital discharged him in 2 weeks and sent him on his way with some pills. He ended up committing suicide 2 years after the cat incident.
People need to be careful with what they say, and think about how their choice of words can affect someone. I'm sorry if I upset anyone with my topic.
There is absolutely NO WAY anyone could have guessed that there was a sad and tragic story behind your initial posts. Asking people to be sensitive to something they didn't know they had to be sensitive about is a bit much to ask. You can choose not to explain why you were so sensitive (which you did), but that just means you leave it open for others to be goofy or 'insensitive' as you call it.
Sure, there are certain well known 'taboo' subjects that people should always avoid making jokes about. However, jokes about a cartoon in a silly game eating a cat is not one of them.
I'm sorry about your brother, i know how devasting mental illness can be on a family. But it seems to me that you also have a lot of unresolved issues that you need to take care of.

I say this with no disrespect to anyone who has posted here, particularly the OP (although I do disagree with her original premise) but it seems like nothing positive is to be gained by this continuing. I feel like this has gone beyond addressing the game experience and has turned into something quite personal and painful, causing the OP clear (and unnecessary) distress.

Is eating horses, rabbits & goats weird? :?:
Goats are disgusting imo by the way. Not a fan of rabbit as well.
It depends on your culture.
I am English, so yes, horse meat is very weird, goat curry is not mainstream and rabbit is probably also a rarity nowadays.
Really? Horse Meat is weird in England? I Had no idea. Here in Holland you can buy horse meat in the Supermarket. And I thought you English lived rabbit stews and all.
Yes, Horse meat is considered a taboo food in the UK - just look up '2013_meat_adulteration_scandal' in Wikipedia.....
Oh right. We Had that here as well but i haf no idea horses were taboo in th UK...
We dont eat it as much as Cow or pork over here but it's pretty easy to find. My horse will be turned into food as well when he dies. Probably dog food tho.
Lol i just ate horse here a week ago - Me no like :D
Honestly, eating cats offended me, too. Is he ALF? ALF supposedly ate cats but it was never shown. I don't like people eating dogs, either. Or Guinea Pigs crosby357 wrote:

I love James Murray!
Oh, and horse meat is pretty taboo here in the US too. At least where I'm from. Have you guys ever had alligator? Or dolphin? They serve it in some restaurants here.leeana69 wrote:

i agree with the above. Having lost my step father whom I called my dad (July 15, 2010), my biological father (May 14, 2014) and one of my younger brothers (July 14, 2014) ALL to suicide, as well as too many friends, I can sympathize with your loss.
But I must say: is a Simpsons forum the best place to air such sensitive topics (especially when you are so sensitive about the topics) you are bringing up?
I'm sorry for your loss.
That said........
This is a Simpsons game discussion board, and I would never connect the events you describe further to your initial post. I simply saw the inital post as being an overreaction to the Simpsons game. With all due respect, don't play the game if you're over sensitive as it is not politically correct and has offbeat humor that may offend some.
Just my 02 pennies.
