Unfortunately, communication with the developers was lost, hence the lack of a release announcement. I don't think Apple would skip an update for the sake of an update. They're strict about that. Not always updates are about the visible part of the game, like new fighters or quests or something like that. Maybe this update was about the server side of the game. Either way, we'll have to wait for the developers to get back to us.

I stand corrected; update took away the battle pass quests.
