Thanks @EA_Blueberry for your input!
You mentioned "combo bugs" were fixed, but personally I haven't noticed any. I actually returned to this game BECAUSE of these alternate moves and variety in the combo system.
We'll be waiting and, hopefully, it'll be changed back soon enough.
@PR0FESS0R-M it was only a few hours of one day but what had happened was every fighter was throwing the same strikes even if that fighter didn't have those strikes in his or her arsenal but it was fixed fairly quick but then after the fix the combos changed to what this thread is about.
- 4 years ago@mczenn Exactly! I noticed that too. I believe this piece of info could be quite important to the devs. Here’s hoping they’ll change it soon. Now the gameplay feels extremely limited.

@EA_Blueberry And today/yesterday they made another change to the combo system that makes it even worst:
Before, you could swipe right in the upper half of your screen to get hooks to the head, or swipe in the lower half of the screen to throw hooks to the stomach.
Today, those controls seem to be have been gone. Now you get only low jabs and a combination of high and low hooks, regardless whether you swipe high or low.
So now, we lost control of our high and low hooks.
The first ufc mobile game had complete control of high and low jabs, hooks and uppercuts, depending on what section of your screen you were touching or swiping.
Maybe you’re experimenting on this?
Please tell me you’re just testing, and you’ll make it like the first game!

I have been playing the game today, and I also noted the character’s responsiveness to our commands is even slower and less than before: After a swipe, swipe, swipe combo, the fighter doesn’t respond for a whole 1-2 seconds. I’ve tested it many times. Please look into these matters. Right now the game is pretty uncomfortable to play.

Hey everyone,
Found out the slight delay in between some strikes/combos was actually an intended change to deter spamming strikes to win. I can see how from a design point of view it would make some sense so players take every combo into consideration when they're fighting because you have a higher chance of being exposed to a counter.
We're monitoring feedback around this change and we'll relay your thoughts over to the team. Keep us updated on this as you continue to play. I know sometimes changes right off the bat can feel discouraging because you have to adapt to a new way of playing that can feel like a learning curve, but in my experience observing feedback from players on the forums for a lot of games there are a ton of players that will change their mind around things after putting some more hours in the game.
Keep us updated this week! - 4 years ago
@EA_BlueberryThanks for your reply, but I beg to differ regarding the delay and the changes in the combo strikes.
Instead of delaying the response time, the devs could have easily made the opponents to block or parry more. With this delay, you're not fixing the problem of spamming, you're actually adding one more problem to the mix: Taking control away from the player.
And I'm sorry to say, but I'm actually tired of this. With every new change you are systematically taking away the player's control of the fighters.
The combo system was an amazing addition to the game, making it appealing and inviting to players like me, who returned to the game because of the fun prospect of alternating strikes to get different combination and attacks. That was great!
But then, you recently changed the combo system to take control away from the player and dumb down said system.
Then, you made things even worst by taking control away from the player regarding the high and low attacks. Now, all a player has and can do is just swiping right. Not strategy or creativity involved. This is boring. This is unappealing. This makes the game very dull.
I will not change my mind on this, because these changes flat out make the game boring and uninteresting.
I haven't played the game in more than 3 weeks because I have no reason to get back in there. It's not enjoyable when you can't control your character like we used to.So... the big question is... why have you made the game purposely worst? It was fine after the previous update, with alternate combos. Is it THAT hard to do what you did in the first UFC mobile game? That game gave you 10x more control choices than this one does now.
For me, the less control you have, the less choices you have, the less you use your brain. If I don't use my brain to make choices, the gameplay is not interesting.

The latest patch notes can be found here. The recovery window has been adjusted. Looking for feedback around that!

Im also gonna have to agree I can handle the delay no problem but I want the strikes back how they use to be I could swipe right for a medium strike and it be the first strike option then I could switch to a light strike or a heavy strike and it would be the second strike of that light medium or heavy option there were way more combo options the other way and its really turned me off of the game literally my whole guild stopped playing our leader made me leader then some admins left then I stopped playing cause our guild died and I came back to check on everything and it kinda has less control now. But like I said I can handle the delay but combos need to be changed back to how they first were literally those were the best and most efficient and effective combos @EA_Blueberry
