Ultimate Abilities and Showstoppers?

How do I do an Ultimate Ability?  I was able to do it last time for rewards.  This time, not so much.  I think you just let the opponent wear down your health and your special move bars begin to fill.  Last time, I'm pretty sure that's what I did.  The bars don't fill like they once did and time runs out.

How is the Ultimate Ability different from a Showstopper? Seems like the same procedure to accomplish them...

    Use simple combos to fill the skill scale. Yes, in my opinion Ultimate Ability and Showstopper the same thing. But I could be wrong because of the complexity of the translation into Russian
