Aim assist only works sometimes

I changed some settings and aim assist seems to be working approximately 95% of the time. This is what I did:
1. Turn ps5 off and then reset controller
2. Turn off 3d audio
3. Turn off enhanced audio (e.g. audio focus)
4. Switch game preset to performace mode
5. Unlink discord
6. Delete apex saved data not game data
7. In game: turn off vibration, adaptive triggers and keep always sprint off (always sprint turned on messes with my aim assist)
8. Alc's not opened (might mess with AA)
I am using 4,3 classic small deadzone with 110 fov. Any changes to the deadzone, look and ads sensitivity effects aim assist negatively, (I have not tried changing default per optic yet).

Seems like temp a fix, the issue might be back again later. Unless the devs do something about it we won't see light again

SpectreVanitas True, I will keep testing for atleast a few weeks before I claim that its fixed for good. I'm hoping others try this and if it works for them, it should make it easier for respawn to close in on the issue.

I mostly play on xbox. Have played since the beta. I have been through the ringer with this pos game. It was great the 1st 2 weeks but after that 1st patch AA has been non existent for me most games.I tried just switching off always sprint only and that had a profound result. I've always used it. Time will tell how much a difference but so far It's been good most games. I've still had some crap games because let's face it, their servers are trash. 20 tick rate don't help. Anyway I will chime back in later with what I think after more testing.

sometimes I feel like I need to reupload the issue as something else and reupload like all the proof that ive made, I feel like a lot of the video I made got glossed over and didn't gain as much attention as they should have. like I made the video showcasing that tap strafing was weaker on 60 fps compared to 240fps. i showed that aim was effected through smoke which implies that its not just an aim assist issue. i showcased that it effected both mnk and controller. i think it obviously effects everything and not just aim which is why i also think its input lag as suggested by the tap strafe being weaker on 60fps. however its not as easily as confirmable or quantifiable to showcase things being worse like say armor swapping. that's not something I can easily showcase in a quantifiable way. however i for sure don't think its actually an aim assist issue, that's just what the title of the post is so I understand the label being used as a way to describe the issue even though its not what i actually think the issue is. I dont know what the issue is which is also what makes it harder to figure out. Input delay is just my second guess. could be something else entirely.

The videos you made about changing resolutions and the game changing as you do definitely are a good contribution, even though I can't replicate that experiment on my PC (because it's full AMD maybe? ). I really advice the devs to review your footage again and check from there.
Btw the issue is more like a strange kind of desync rather than being input lag. Because if you look clearly, you'll find that everything isn't in sync with the server, like you'll be dying behind covers, movement slowed a bit, bad hit reg (registration ), interacting with doors & deathboxes, looting stuff from supply bins and /or ground will be a 0.5-1 second slower than other players, 240hz would feel like 60hz... So aim assist not triggering is just a single symptom among all of these. But it's NOT a network issue since many of us already tested with different connections and the performance display isn't showing anything odd. Packet loss and ping is okay for me and I'm currently in a country where my ping is around 50 to the Me south data center. Also yes the mouse will feel different, like it's floaty and the hit registration will be bad, in addition to some kind of aim resist feeling on some players. Might upload an old video since Jan 2025 about this particular mouse issue soon.

Well see, this is where I don’t even know if we even have the same issues. Because I’ve shown before that my game can work perfectly fine with packet loss and 200+ ping. I posted a video where I 1v1 with packet loss and 200 ping and my games working perfectly normally so I personally think that is an entirely separate issue in my opinion. Also if the game isn’t changing with resolution or fps caps or fov then I feel that it must not be the same issue.
