Mass bans for “Gameplay Enhancement” + HWID bans no update from EA for weeks
Over the past several weeks, a significant number of players have been banned for the same stated reason: “Gameplay Enhancement”, frequently accompanied by a HWID ban.
What makes this situation particularly concerning is that many of the affected players appear to be fully legitimate. They report no use of cheats, no intentional third-party software, clean systems, and normal gameplay statistics. Despite this, bans are occurring in noticeable waves, all citing the same reason. This strongly suggests a potential false positive or an issue within the detection system.
Issues with the Appeal Process
The appeal process has further intensified concerns. In many cases, including my own, players have submitted more than 20 appeals, providing:
- Detailed explanations of their situation
- System and hardware information
- Evidence supporting legitimate gameplay
- Relevant account security context
Despite this, every appeal receives the same automated response, for example:
“All investigations regarding this matter have already been conducted.
The imposed sanctions will not be removed from your account.
We consider this matter closed and this as our final correspondence on this topic.”
There is no indication that appeals are being reviewed manually. Responses do not reference the submitted information, nor do they provide clarification or transparency regarding the decision.
Lack of Communication and Transparency
Additionally, there has been no public communication from EA for weeks regarding this situation:
- No confirmation of whether this is a known issue or false-positive bug
- No explanation of what specifically triggers “Gameplay Enhancement” bans
- No statement on whether the detection system is being reviewed or adjusted
When a large number of players are banned for the same reason, within the same time frame, and receive HWID bans, this warrants a public response. Continued silence and automated replies risk undermining trust in both the anti-cheat system and the support process.
What the Community Is Asking For
Players are not demanding immediate unbans. Instead, they are requesting transparency and communication:
- Is EA aware of potential false positives related to these bans?
- Is this issue currently under investigation?
- Will affected accounts receive a genuine manual review?
At present, the community has received no clear information and remains uncertain about the situation
