Chat soft locks game on PC

Just reported the same issue.  The only way out is to bring up task manager and kill the battlefield process.

Having this same issue. Noticed it after the update on 4/14/26

Same issue however I have  a workaround.

I have a controller plugged in, press a few buttons on that and allows you out of the soft lock

I was just about to post about the exact same issue. It happens to me constantly, and having to Alt+F4 every single time is beyond annoying. Honestly, it feels like the developers have no idea what they’re doing anymore. Every update seems to break the game even further. At this point, I’m starting to wonder if they’re doing it on purpose 
This game has so many bugs now, it’s unbelievable. I’ve made so many posts, but it feels like we’re just shouting into the void nobody is listening to us. Honestly, with the state the game is in, I’m starting to believe they’re breaking it on purpose

having the same issue, basically the chat for me never worked. a fix i found is connecting a gamepad and pressing buttons to close the chat. if you have one, of course

Just had this issue while in an operation. Really sucks because i was doing well. 

Right after the update, I have the exact same problem; I tried to open the chat and it completely froze. I had to exit the game and close the application manually.
