Something about R&D is fundamentally broken this year. AI teams are often maxing out the development on their cars after only 2/3 seasons. Additionally, regulation changes no longer provide a necessary effect, with only some of the parts needing adapting rather than the whole department. It just seems like AI teams have little-no barriers with regards to maxing out their car far too quickly, even with them having reduced cash/R&D points. This makes results in My Team over several seasons boringly predictable as a result, whereas in previous years the barriers faced by AI teams developing their cars in addition to big regulation changes could see big shake-ups as far as the pecking order is concerned when doing a longer save game.

I'm having a similar issue starting MyTeam season 3. I started around mid-grid S1 with average funds and resource points generation but I've practically maxed-out the development of aero and chassis, with two upgrades left in total for both, but they're locked because I need 'facility improvements'. Powertrain has a few more but they are locked-off too. There was a chassis reset after season 2 but it seems to have made no difference to anything. I'm between 4-5th in constructors but the top three teams are way ahead and I can't catch them up as there is hardly anything left to research and develop. At this rate I'll have a load of resource points and a ton of cash but nothing to use it on. Was this game not tested past season 2?
I can't seem to find any settings in the menus to adjust the AI development / money etc.

Yeah it's also impossible to outdevelop them, even though I got more than enough ressource points and cash. It always says a facility improvement is required and unlocking the improvements and upgrading them takes WAY to much time

I haved tried it and it help, but we still have the problem of what we do next, I have completed all développement of the car, and I’m only in the middle of season 2…now my team have alot of money and alot of ressources point and I just can do nothing with it, we should ´nt be able to top the R & D at all. AI and human teams should ´nt be able to top R&D.

Same issue here, ai team max out too fast and after 4 races in season 2 of my team it became almost impossible to win a race. That is really anoying, f1 24 was really better at that. Don’t get me wrong it’s cool to have good competition but there is a big gap in development between season 1 and 2..3

Got to the end of Season 2 and 8/11 teams have maxed out on R&D, didn'teven have any regulation changes in the second season so Season 3 is gonna be a bit boring. You wonder how much the devs actually tested things like this. I'm a big fan of the idea of changing things to have different departments and developing them, but the execution is terrible. What's the point of playing multiple seasons when car progression tops out so early?!
(Note: had R&D on standard rate for myself and AI. Did 24 races in 1st season and 16 in 2nd. Simmed all Practice sessions (I was doing medium length races so Practice was only 30 mins), except for the mandatory ones at the beginning of each season)

I'm very curious on this matter.
I wonder if setting income rate to reduce for AI would help mitigate this problem?
For example, let's say we set their R&D generate speed to high so they keeps on developing, spending large sums of money whilst doing so during the season, then because of their income rate is reduced overall, they would be out of money to adapt parts at the end of the season. - Richy594 months agoRising Spectator
I haven't personally gotten to this stage yet, but seeing many comments and videos noting that the R&D changes don't have much of an affect, and AI teams just continue with their development without issue. Seeing the YouTube videos of simulated seasons shows all the teams maxxed out by season 3 with little variety.
On another note, why is there a cap on each teams development? The game in MyTeam should allow all teams to reach max potential which should be the same - effectively 'equal performance' - over time if they put all rescourse and money into R&D. This would give much more mixed grid and results orders, as once all teams reach their current max potential the order never changes and a Sauber will always be worse than a Red Bull etc. The MyTeam car seems badly affected this year and doesn't have as much max potential as before. I noticed the 'Chassis' section of the pie only reaches halfway and was never like this before.
