Stuck on driver update screen two player career mode (Workaround Shared)

Hello! After a performance drivers update (email in game) its not possible to create a coop career.

In the attached image i'm showing where the game freezes and the only way to return to the main menu is by closing the game. Also, the two-player mode already had issues with the development points for the car, as only the ones earned by the host counted, not to mention the lag that there is.

I will update this thread as soon as I have more information. Meanwhile, I recommend you try this workaround by the user MaxBsch1905​  that has been useful for some players:

The solution is as follows:

One of the two must leave the session and restart their game, while the other remains in the menu where the ratings need to be updated. They then join the other player who is still in the session. In my case, I was then back in the normal menu. Then the other player, who remained in the session, repeats the process and should also be in the menu when they rejoin.

If it doesn't work in the first time try it again!

This is tested and worked with us - both on PS5. 

My friend and I have tried the work around  MaxBsch1905​  suggested, it has not worked for us, both on Steam, tried multiple times.

Hey folks - apologies that you've been experiencing this. I raised this with the team since yesterday's Driver Ratings update and we've identified what's causing it. In the meantime, user MaxBsch1905​ shared a workaround that may help:

1. Have both players join the Two-Player Career session as normal
2. Once both players are on the Driver Ratings update screen, have one player (Player 1) leave the session and restart the game, leaving the other (Player 2) to stay on the Driver Ratings update screen and select 'Update'
3. Have Player 1 re-join Player 2's session. Player 1 should then be greeted with the regular Career menu
4. Player 2, who is still waiting on the Driver Ratings screen, can now leave, restart the game, and join Player 1's active Career session
5. If this does not work, repeat the process but reverse the order of who leaves and rejoins.

It's a messy workaround but hopefully this will help get things back up and running for you.

Imagine paying 70€ and not be able to play

Did not work, followed the instructions step by step, reversed order too. Please just send an update to fix this…… it’s obviously a simple coding error where they forgot to include an “advance” command in the code, and the prompt restarts as a result. Billion dollar company, this should be fixed in hours, not days.
