Had to change batteries mid WOC game and controller stopped working

Changed batteries between periods 1 and 2 and ended up getting kicked for poor team play. My headset was plugged into my controller and working, I could press the Xbox menu button, but nothing in game worked. Absolutely ridiculous. Stop releasing half finished products.
