Tiny Builds Halloween Challenge
Happy October everyone! Hope your summer was great and you’re perhaps enjoying the seasonal changes as several of us head into fall! On that note… Hidehi2 , Sandraelle and I soocoolsim are in the very, very early stages behind the scenes preparing for our next world collaboration. In the meantime, I thought it would be fun to host a Halloween themed tiny build challenge and hope you join in! Creating a tiny build is already daunting, however let’s step it up a notch with the following: Challenge criteria Create a Residential or Community build, and build as high or low as you wish, however the lot size cannot be larger than 10x10. Align with the Halloween theme and use at least 2 of the following as predominant colours in your build: orange, black, purple, green, grey. Include at least 3 objects from any of the free EA Store Halloween Treats collections All EPs, SPs and official EA store content can be used, however no external 3rd party content please. You can Custard check your export file to double-check. More than one submission is fine, and you can also link to a sim or household created for your residential build. No budget limit so let your imagination soar! When your creation is available on the Exchange, just reply here with the name of your build, download link and up to 5 pictures including the front view. You can link to additional media if desired. Submission deadline for inclusion in the challenge showcase video: Oct 29, 2025 Tips! Do play test your builds to ensure no routing issues. Don’t want to have those sims stomping and getting stuck right! Windows and flooring tiles can go wonky if placed too near the lot edges. Adding them at least 1 square away should work, however test your build by placing a copy elsewhere in the world. Take a look around to ensure all is fine and fix this and any floating tiles as needed before final export. Take screenshots in Live mode. That removes gridlines from view and looks more attractive. A Tiny Town by Rflong7 is a great builders world for use with this challenge since it includes about 30 empty 10x10 lots. Looking forward to seeing your tiny Halloween creations! I wanted to share what I'm working on, I'm making my own world, I'm looking for feedback, I've collected lots from the exhange and built my own lots. The world contains it's own description, animated Icon and picture. The world map, contains it's own Icons, descriptions. I still need to place the sims in the world, I've got about 40-50 free slots, in the world to place the monster high sims, I used mainly Rental units like dorms, to increase this count. Skelen Moania was the founder of New Salem, I wanted to give the town more identity than just being place where monster high is, so this is the lot she currently lives in. Skelen Moania, owns the local graveyard, but it's used more like a nightclub than graveyard, it's where the monster high students goto party. Coffin Bean Café is the hottest haunted spot in town for Monster High students to come after school, whether they want to hit the biteology books, chit chat while playing with monster pets, or enjoy scaretastically scrumptious snacks. The truth of the matter is that, I'm not actual a massive fan of monster high, but I do enjoy creating worlds , especially worlds with a good amount of law. What can be difficult for me, is when i build a lot, I always consider gameplay first for example that Coffin Bean Café cost less than 18K, it makes me think outside the box to make something look good on tighter budjet. I've downloaded so many fantastic lots from the exchange only to bin them, due to making the game, load forever and I just wish some builders will actual play test the lots. Just don't get me started on the move objects cheat, when I download a lot I always seem to have 10 cupboards infront of my bed.😄 I've got no plans to share the world file, I don't won't to face the wrath of the plagiarism police, but if anybody is intrest, I will post the links to everything I've used and setup instructions. The only mods I'm using are stuff I can use and edit myself, I'm trying to keep the world Custom Content free, I did make a small mod that changes the text, to say Monster high instead of Copperdale school, that was for immersion. I also use the Home Regions mod to help setup sims, I don't wont a NPC from Willow Creek walking past my door while I'm playing in a monster world and vice versa, keeps everybody where they should be.Bayou Bijou Collab Completed - World save and Part 4 video released!

BAYOU BIJOU BASE WORLD (empty lots) This is a flat vanilla world created by Hidehi2 and is very loosely based on New Orleans or anywhere in the Louisiana Bayou country. Since a fully loaded Bayou Bijou includes many highly detailed builds, we recommend you adjust your in-game settings lower for optimal gameplay. Download and install the empty base world Download and extract the world save file Place the extracted folder under .... \Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Saves before launching your game BACKGROUND (Edit! July 5/25 - The collab is complete. The following instructions are for reference only) Experienced creators (Intermediate+) are invited to join us in creating builds to add to this empty world. If building is not your forte, but you love decorating, just let us know. We'll try to match you with an appropriate builder to create a shell for you. Everyone can experience Bayou Bijou taking shape by downloading the empty base world and installing builds as they become available. Constructive comments throughout this process are welcome, so don't be shy. Please keep an eye on the "News and Updates" post for milestones and links to new creations as they become available. You can also check out in-game Bayou Bijou Stories and Sims from players / creators. Without further ado, onto the details below and come join in the fun! CLAIMING OVERVIEW Download the Bayou Bijou empty base world created by the talented Hidehi2. Take a look at the lists of available lots using the Map posts as reference (see links above). Indicate you're on board for the collab and sign up for your first claim by replying on this thread with your chosen map lot reference # (eg A8). I will update the lists with claims and add download / media links when builds are completed. Every two weeks (approx the 1st and 15th of the month) a new claiming period starting with a 'Claiming Day' post will begin. During this period, if you are now joining the collab or had a build in progress on Claiming Day, you can claim 1 lot. For ongoing participants, if all previously claimed builds are completed and link(s) submitted by Claiming Day, you may claim up to 2 lots. Edit! Effective Apr 15/25, after successfully uploading a completed cc-free build, participants may claim another lot if desired. However, max 2 claims in progress remains in place. Edit! Apr 17/25 - All lots Claimed. See the Map listings for links to completed builds. BUILDING GUIDELINES Please stay within the theme of each map area and general New Orleans, Louisiana inspiration. Another recommendation is to test placement of your final version. This helps identify any potential issues (windows/tiles out of place, etc). To do this... Export your build, save your game, delete the final version, then use the exported copy in the Library to add it back into the world. Take a look around to see if anything is amiss and correct as needed. It will be useful for players if the Bayou Bijou lot address is included in your build description on the Exchange, albeit optional. Do take the time to put your best foot forward to make your build(s) shine inside and out. Just be cautious about using a ton of clutter since that can add to lag when playing. Each build will be showcased with credit in video walkthroughs on YouTube once the world is completed.
