Sul Sul my lovelies! Happy Friday, and happy November! I hope you all had an absolutely frightful Halloween with all your favorite candy 🍬🍫 What did you dress up as? So if you’re not ready just yet to give up on the spooky season, you’ll definitely want to check out these spook-tacular builds! 🦇🌆🪄 And to finish our week off, iamawesomest123 is currently looking for a new Celebrity themed save file to dive into. The Weekly Grind - Nov 4, 2025
Welcome back to The Weekly Grind. Let’s get to it! What’s going on? It’s the final week of Skate-o-Ween and we’re 2 weeks away from the 7-Ply Maple Harvest Event. (We’ve got a mini-blog coming up before the event to give you the deets on what’s happening in San Van for the event, so hang loose.) We’ve also got “the best free gift in the Citadel” coming this Friday. With Daylight Saving Time ending for San Vansterdam on Nov 3, you may have noticed the daily resets happening an hour earlier. Our systems like Daily Resets go off the UTC timezone (it’s called universal for a reason), so the time really didn’t change on the back-end, but for our players who just experienced “Fall Back”, those resets are an hour earlier (9AM PT/ 1700 UTC). Nov 4, 2025 we pushed out a hotfix to address crashing issues on console where the resume feature would cause the game to crash. What we’ve heard Season 1 and our first Seasonal event received a lot of feedback that the team has taken on, from accrual rates of seasonal and event currency to items that can be obtained by spending that currency. The team is working to improve the tuning of the seasonal and event currency, as well as improve the offerings in the seasonal and event rewards. Additionally, we’ve heard feedback regarding the community parks updates for events. We’ve heard your feedback on Season 1 and the first seasonal event, and some changes we’re bringing to Season 2 are: As noted in our Season 1 blog, the first Season in skate. was always planned to be a little shorter, but all future Seasons will have around 100 tiers in the skate.Pass. Through Skate-o-Ween, we learned that the Event economy is not properly balanced and leads to a surplus of event currency that you can't spend. We’re making changes for the 7-Ply event later this month as a result and we’ll continue to evaluate to see if we need to make further adjustments to future events. We’ve got more info coming through a Dev Blog from the team at Full Circle. REMINDER: Free Gift On Oct 31, 2025, we dropped the Lightrunner set for everyone. All you have to do is log in to get the set (before Dec 2, 2025). Softlocks/Stuck Progression- ONGOING The work continues. The team is making progress on the various softlock issues, and we know we’re not done yet. We appreciate your dedication and sticking with us in Early Access as we work through these issues. Stuck on Isle of Grom We’ve previously pushed out a fix so that new players won’t run into this issue, and have continued to help skaters that are stuck so they can enter San Vansterdam. If you still can’t take the ferry, please report it in our mega thread. Infinite Loading Issues We’re tracking an issue with players getting stuck in loading into San Vansterdam. Workaround: Make sure the game is updated (repair install, if possible). We’ve seen reports from players that loading will complete after a few minutes. EA App: Click … on game tile, select Repair Steam: Steam Library, right click game, Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity. Invisible party members when joining friend from another server Workaround (not 100%): After the transition, any of the 2 party members would have to teleport to the other party member so they could see one another. Fix: Team is currently investigating a full fix. The replay editor often captures stuttering during export on console Fix: Will be fixed with 0.29. Steven on his end goes to prom reluctantly, but ends up having a lot of fun there, while Beth is also enjoying the college party - and seems to be enjoying the college life in general. Susan is struggling with her love life, but tries to put her issues aside to celebrate Steven’s birthday. Finally, a death notice comes in unexpectedly, giving Anna the push to change something about her life... 🐍 For The Sims 3 lovers, Cuniculosa has been sharing tiny Halloween builds that are so cute it’s spooky! My favourite one is the most recent, Hesper’s Herps and Sundry: it’s a pet shop that specializes in reptiles as well as common pets. The outside is very inviting for Halloween lovers, with a big balcony, warm lightning and big windows so you can have a little peek inside. Built on two floors, the ground floor includes several reptile tanks and a cash register. At the top floor, sims can enjoy a nice horror book by a warm cosy fire, and they can step outside on the balcony for a bit of fresh air. There are orange and black colours, pumpkins and black cats for the perfect classic Halloween feel. It’s not just a pet shop, it’s an experience! 👻 🗺️ Next up, elliebreton is asking you all how do you decide where to live. There are many worlds in the game now and while it’s great to have plenty of choices, sometimes too many options makes it hard to pick one! Some players have their go-to world, or will try to match the world with their sim personality and pick where their sims would want to be living, and others even have a system based on the date they plan to pick the neighborhood and the house or lot! It’s hard to sum up all the replies, so I encourage you to have a look in the thread directly! I’m a creature of habits myself, so I tend to pick the same worlds: Brindleton Bay, Sulani, Henford on Bagley. I like to visit the other neighborhoods but I never stay there, so it must be time to step out of my comfort zone! 🍂 Alright, we got a spooky park, and a spooky petshop, but what about us introverts who like to spend most of their fall time at home? Thankfully, cozysimslifeyt got us sorted with a bootiful Halloween Family Home. It includes two bedrooms, an office, a kitchen and living room: ideal for a couple and their child! I absolutely love the front porch with all the pumpkins, perfect to invite trick-or-treaters. The house is of course decorated with all the Halloween and spooky decorations. I would love it if those were available in real life, especially that skeleton rug! What would be your favourite? Welcome back to The Weekly Grind. Let’s get to it! What’s going on? One week into Skate-o-Ween, and the team is working on more fixes. Mid-season Update 0.28.5 dropped on Oct 23, 2025, and we’re hearing your feedback. What have we heard? We’ve heard your feedback regarding Seasonal and Event progression being too low without enough challenges and the rewards tied to the Seasonal and Event task completion not being that significant. We also hear you about skate.Pass and not being able to earn enough SVB for the next season and we’re looking at adjusting the amount of SVB rewarded in the skate.Pass. The team is taking all the feedback and learning from it, working on some tuning for Season 2 that we’ll be sharing in the coming weeks. Beyond Season 1, we’ve also heard you loud and clear regarding the issues impacting gameplay overall - softlock issues, progression issues, connectivity and stability issues, and how the cosmetic and rewards system works in general. It’s crucial that you know we see and hear your feedback. We’ll have more information to share soon on the next steps, but it’s crucial for us to ensure you know that you’re being heard. Free Gift If you didn’t notice, in the skate.Pass images we had an asset that included a white Haru shirt that was not actually available to unlock/earn. We fixed the asset, but wanted to do more. So on Friday, October 31, we’re granting everyone the Lightrunner set that includes the white long-sleeved Haru shirt, the striped baseball cap, and the white high-top shoes. For free, for everyone with skate.Pass Premium. You’ll just have to log in to get them. Skate-o-Ween Weekly Task Progression Fix On Monday, we pushed a fix that allows you to run any of the previously completed challenges again: "Witch's Brew", "Spider Bait", and "Heathen Flip". This update enables you to complete the challenge goals and receive all the Week 1 rewards. Additionally, we're disabling the "Basinator" Challenge due to the objective "Perform a single flip trick and 360 into the Fountain" not consistently tracking. Softlocks/Stuck Progression- ONGOING As shared last week, the team continues to push fixes for softlock issues, but more details are needed if you’re still experiencing a stuck progression issue. Hello everyone, and welcome to the 9th edition of the EA Forums Online Security Newsletter. It’s October Cybersecurity Awareness Month. We’ll revisit key topics from previous editions to refresh our knowledge and prepare for this month’s optional challenge. Staying secure is essential and should be a priority in every online interaction or purchase. As usual, if you share your experiences or take a quiz, you’ll receive a unique badge on the forums as a token of participation. Now is a good time to introduce this month’s additional, optional challenge. Since October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, let’s promote online security even more: talk about online safety with your family and those most vulnerable, like your grandparents or kids. Exchange experiences with friends and share the tips you use every day. You can use the information in this newsletter or other resources (check the InfoHub). And, most importantly… Stay safe! Cybersecurity Awareness Month Downloading games Download apps and games only from official stores. Check reviews and ratings, and review requested permissions. Keep your operating system and apps updated, use antivirus software, and avoid illegal “cracked” versions, which often carry malware. Keeping your account secure Use strong, unique passwords and a password manager. Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), such as Google Authenticator (biometric options are often supported). Watch for phishing: verify senders, avoid suspicious links or attachments, and never share personal information. Secure your email, the gateway to many accounts, by enabling two-factor authentication (2FA), monitoring activity, and using encryption for sensitive messages. Biometrics security Biometrics (fingerprints, facial recognition, voice) and passkeys use on-device cryptography to reduce or replace passwords. They resist phishing, brute-force attacks, and password theft while enabling faster logins. Devices store encrypted templates, not raw fingerprint or face images, helping protect security and privacy even if a device is compromised. Online purchases Buy games and currency from official stores or verified sellers; avoid offers that seem too good to be true. Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on your accounts and use trusted payment methods (e.g., PayPal, Google Pay) with buyer protection. Keep your system and antivirus up to date. Be wary of social engineering: double-check links, verify senders, and remember that legitimate support will not contact you through unofficial channels. Password creation psychology People often prioritize convenience over security, opting for simple or familiar passwords (such as birthdays, names, or team names), reusing them, or following predictable patterns. But before we get to know Lianna, we have to meet the background and important characters that will play a part in the story. Lianna is the daughter of Dante, a spellcaster and Kalani, a mermaid. Dante was supposed to marry a strong spellcaster from the same elite society they belong to, but he had other plans for himself (and in the end, it seems that he married a mermaid!). We then learn about Kyera’s story, a very strong spellcaster who lacks control over her powers, and wants to find her suitable match. This setting sounds very promising for the story, so let’s keep an eye on this challenge so we don’t miss the next chapters! 👀 👠 Wicked: For Good is less than two months away, so this is the perfect timing to share this fairy recreation of Land of Oz by KarilynMonroe2 . It features the iconic yellow brick road and some of the houses from Munchkin Lands, as well as the Emerald City (if you’d like to spend one short day there), or also the castle of the Wicked Witch of the West. It includes a common area on the ground floor with a bar and loungeroom, as well as a swimming pool. The rest of the floors are made for different types of flats, depending on the households that you pick: there is a single-person apartment, another one is made for a couple and the last one is made for two separate sims. Everything looks very modern and clean, and each floor has its own decoration and personality. I love the curved balconies and the style, they give the building a very chic look! This challenge is exactly what it sounds like - you’ll be locking a Sim in a house worth at least $100,000 with no toilets on the lot. You’ll start with no money, and your end goal is to earn enough to purchase the most expensive toilet in the game. But there’s a catch! Your Sim isn’t allowed a full-time job, and can’t leave the lot. You’ll also need to be sure all bills are fully paid, and all existing furniture is in pristine and working condition. If anything catches on fire or breaks, you’ll have to replace that exact item before you can finally purchase your coveted toilet.
