Sul Sul everyone! It’s Friday again, and what an exciting week! The wait is finally over, and Royalty & Legacy has fully launched, alongside our two newest kits- Tea Time Solarium & Silver Screen Style! I’m a big fan of letting my Sims write their own stories through gameplay by leaving autonomy fully on, but that definitely comes with some consequences. I’ve had Sims cheat on their partners, get into fights, burn down kitchens, and even get crushed by a vending machine ☠️ But I want to hear about the shenanigans your Sims get into on their own- does your Sim tend to sabotage their relationships autonomously, or do they find themselves in more serious trouble? Be sure to pull up a chair and join our therapy session to vent away with us! Have you been looking for the perfect castle for your new royal family? Well search no more, ehaught58 has you covered in this intricate medieval style build, Cracked Stone Castle. This beautiful fortress is surrounded by an alligator filled moat and lush landscape with plenty of room for a full family 🐊🏰 It includes 5 bedrooms, each with their own private bathroom, several cozy living and sitting rooms, a ballroom, and even a seance room hidden away in one of the towers. But that’s not all! This lot is full of little surprises and secret passageways, make sure you check it out and let us know what all you find! Up next, for all you incredible and talented builders out there- vicdanielle is looking for some help with a special build request for a legacy gameplay story. Here’s a bit of background- this build will be designed for a culinary arts university student who’s spending the last semester studying abroad in Mt. Komorebi 🍳🥘 The build will need to host cooking, gourmet cooking, and baking mentoring classes and include 6-8 cooking stations, a separate classroom, and a lounge and study area for the students. There are no pack restrictions, but the architecture should match Mt. Komorebi and include high-end and luxurious decor. So if you’re feeling inspired, give this build a go and show us what you create! In addition to this week’s pack launch, we’ve also all been super busy playing through Lost Legacies, and we’ve got a brand new gameplay story for this event called Lost Legacies Playthrough, written by PaxxieLovesDinos. This story follows Aurelia Espinoza-Cheng, a star student grappling to find her independence from her controlling parents. Her own destiny suddenly finds her as she’s approached by a mysterious woman who convinces Aurelia to uncover the secrets of the powerful Darong family. But what will she find? Can this mysterious woman be trusted? And what exactly will she do with this strange golden key? Tune in to find out, and see what fate has in store for her! 🗝️🕵️ And finally, we have a brand new gameplay challenge just in time for spring, The Floral Empire Challenge, created by Hearts_For_All. For this challenge, you’ll be curating a beautiful garden and selling your flowers for a living, all while you search for your soulmate and raise your heir. There are 5 different chapters, each with their own goals and rules, like achieving a level 10 gardening skill, or successfully running a 5 star business. Battlefield 6 - Community Update - Looking Ahead to Season 2
Hey everyone, Season 2 is almost here. Before it goes live, we wanted to share an update on what’s coming this season, along with what we’re already working on beyond its launch, based on what you’ve been discussing across the Battlefield community. Significant Updates Coming in Season 2 The first content update of Season 2 introduces Contaminated, a new map designed to deliver focused combat with multiple pathways and flanking opportunities. Arriving with it is a Limited-Time Mode that, as seen in our recent story trailer, expands Battlefield 6’s narrative and introduces a new element of tactics in the fight against Pax Armata. There’s more variety coming later in the season with a new high-intensity map and a Limited-Time Mode that will require players to battle through an underground base covered in darkness. In addition to new content, Season 2 brings a wide variety of updates and fixes. Some of the key areas of improvement include: Progression Improvements: - Broader Challenge Parameters: Challenges have been streamlined by reducing the emphasis on highly mode-specific challenges, removing the daily sidearm challenge from regular rotation, and expanding criteria like allowing assists to count toward Daily Challenges. We’ll continue to closely monitor completion rates and adjust challenge criteria where they feel too restrictive. - Faster Battle Pass: Battle Pass progression has been adjusted to be more rewarding this season. This includes recalculating how Battle Pass Tokens are earned from Career XP, allowing you to earn progress more quickly through regular gameplay and Weekly Challenges. - More Rewarding Progression in REDSEC: Career XP and Weapon XP earn rates have been increased in Battle Royale and Gauntlet, helping progression feel more balanced between REDSEC and Battlefield 6 experiences. - Career Reward Rebalance: Career and Battle Pass Boosters were added to some earlier Career ranks, particularly to better support players who focus on REDSEC. This change helps progression feel meaningful even when standard Career unlocks, such as gadgets, throwables, and loadout slots, don’t provide direct benefits in Battle Royale or Gauntlet. Weapon Balance and Recoil Improvements: Recoil compensation has been made fully consistent, resulting in more predictable and reliable weapon handling. Building on this, automatic weapons have received a broad tuning pass to reinforce role clarity and ensure weapons feel appropriately distinct across different combat distances. Player Movement: Soldier movement has been improved to feel more predictable and readable in fast-paced combat. This includes updated acceleration curves, smoother vaulting and ladder transitions, and fixes that reduce visual inconsistencies or unexpected behavior during traversal and close-quarters interactions. Audio Improvements: Audio has been polished to improve clarity and reliability during matches. This includes clearer cues for movement and interactions to help with positioning, better handling of overlapping sounds, and more dependable playback of critical audio in busy combat scenarios. Continued refinements and improvements are already in the works for later in the season as well. We’ll be sharing more details on the season’s content with a full Season Roadmap at the end of the week, followed by complete Update Notes covering all changes. We’re excited for you to jump in and start playing as soon as Season 2 goes live. Ongoing Development Focus At the same time, we’re working on a clear set of gameplay improvements that will continue rolling out over the course of the season and beyond. Current areas for improvement that are in active development include hit registration and netcode, ongoing recoil review, visibility, the ping system for map locations, and additional audio improvements (i.e. footsteps). We are targeting some of these improvements to be tested in Battlefield Labs for player-driven iteration, and will be included throughout upcoming game updates once they are validated. There are additional areas under review that we’ll provide more details on as decisions are finalized. Battlefield Labs Battlefield Labs continues to be a critical part of how we test, iterate, and validate gameplay changes alongside the community. As we move into Season 2, Labs will remain focused on combat feel, consistency, and balance. We recently tested the new Contaminated map together with a new gameplay feature with players in Battlefield Labs. These playtests helped us better understand how the feature impacted moment-to-moment decision-making and player comfort during combat, and based on player reactions we made a series of adjustments to ensure it's better prepared for the launch of Season 2. We are also planning to test our Time-to-Kill (TTK) tuning, with a focus on improving combat readability and consistency. The goal of this work is to require stronger aim accuracy and firing discipline in order to achieve the fastest TTK. As part of this work, we’re looking at elements such as limb multipliers, headshot damage, and the cost of ammunition types that enhance headshot effectiveness. Golmud Railway Testing We recently started some initial, focused Battlefield Labs play sessions on the Golmud Railway map, which will arrive in Battlefield 6 in an upcoming Season. As we mentioned in our previous blog, this version of the map is not a one-to-one copy but instead being reworked and adjusted to best fit the experience of Battlefield 6, and early impressions show that players are already picking up on the differences in this new interpretation. Initial reactions have been positive, particularly around the overall scale and flow of the playspace. Players noted that the map feels familiar while still offering something new, including improvements to the northern town area and added cover that better supports infantry movement and engagements. As with all Battlefield Labs content, Golmud Railway is still in active development. Some elements, such as the train that runs through the map, were not fully functional during the first session, but work is already underway to bring these features back for future sessions. We’ll continue testing Golmud Railway with our BF Labs participants and aim to provide updates in the future as the map continues to evolve. REDSEC Updates We recently introduced a change that ensures players drop a minimum of two armor plates upon death. Building on that, we’re planning to increase overall armor availability in Season 2 by adding a chance for additional armor plates to spawn in Class Crates. This is intended to improve pacing and survivability across matches, particularly in situations where armor plates can feel scarce as a match progresses. We’re also making additional changes to the availability of Vehicle Keycard rewards. Tanks are a core part of what makes REDSEC unique, and we want players to have meaningful access to them. At the same time, having multiple tanks active for a single team should be rare and earned. To support this, we’re introducing a cooldown on Vehicle Keycards as a mission reward after one is successfully acquired, making it significantly harder to chain tank access back-to-back. As these changes go live, we’ll monitor how they perform and will share more details on additional REDSEC improvements in a separate update. Community Highlights Alongside of featuring community-made Portal experiences in-game, here are a few additional experiences from the community that we have been thoroughly enjoying, and think you should check out: BF Craft Created by: Yujei Experience Code: Z1AHQ It’s TDM with base building! Switch to a weapon to select a fortification, then interact to place it. Battleburg ATV Obstacle Course Created by: royzagaming Experience Code: YK8TD The first extreme ATV course featuring rock gardens, jumps, and its very own labyrinth. We highly recommend using the Engineer class, as you will need it. Hot Potato Created by: Choanie Experience Code: ZEQ3W Run for your life in this deadly game of hot potato! One player has a blowtorch and must tag someone before they explode. Everyone else is defenseless. Timer starts at 60s, decreasing each round. The last survivor wins. Recently, we featured BellumI988’s Portal remake of Operation Metro (experience code ZYDGB). We had a blast jumping into the meat grinder with players. If you haven’t checked it out yet, we recommend getting your squad together to play! Portal Protip: If you notice longer load times on your experience, and don’t have bots active, we recommend disabling “Support AI Navigation” on the web builder. This will support faster load times, especially if the combat area is large. They grow up so fast… A stunning view of the Moon, shared here by SilverJanSims Now time for the highlights! 📚 Let’s start those highlights with the end of a beloved series here on the forums: the very last chapter of The Whittaker Saga has been released by JesLet40. The series has been following the family and its legacy from 1890 until 1985 - nearly a century of storylines with new drama and new characters. This last chapter is a great send off to the characters and wraps up the different plots, I won’t spoil too much and let you discover it on your own. It is a bit bittersweet to say goodbye to familiar characters, but it’s also great to have a good conclusion! The last lines of dialogue conclude the story in a very beautiful way. Thank you JesLet40 for sharing all the adventures of the Whittaker family with us and for creating a story that will remain a classic in the Sims community! 📒 Today in “Simmers are more organized than secret societies, heads of governments and kindergarten teachers during a school trip”, meet Frog0mg and the Sims Organization Sheet. If you are struggling with keeping up with all your sims and households, this simple yet very effective spreadsheet will become your new best friend. You can keep tabs of each individual sim and add any useful information such as their status, sim type, location, relationship status, and more! One thing to keep in mind: make sure to label it as your Sim Spreadsheet information, so that out of context it doesn’t look like you’ve been stalking your neighbours for the past decade! 🏰 With the release of Royalty & Legacy approaching, we are seeing more of you sharing older and newer castle builds (while some of us still struggle to add a simple roof on a square house… anyway). This week, Frostysirenfox is showcasing a Vampire Castle located in Forgotten Hollow, sitting over a plasma lake. It’s made from very dark stones and includes a throne room, a large master bedroom and study, and underground quarters for the servants. The garden is also beautifuly decorated so you can enjoy a little stroll while thinking of your next strategies to get rid of your opponents or on how to plan the best ball that will make all the other kingdoms jealous. ShellyE1 is sharing the Planet Premade Monthly Challenge: each month, the goal is to do a make over of a randomly selected premade household by upgrading their homes, creating special rooms that fit their personality, and doing a physical makeover if you feel like it. For February, the first household is going to be the two best friends from Discover University. We are heading to brighter and longer days for those in the northern hemisphere, finally! 🌄Most importantly, it’s almost the end of the week: do you have any exciting plans, or no plans at all? Gaming all day and snacking is an exciting plan, right? 😄 Let’s do a quick recap first of this week’s news… 🏰 On Monday, we revealed the world of Ondarion for the next expansion pack, Royalty & Legacy! 🗞️ On Thursday quite a few things happened… The gameplay trailer for Royalty & Legacy was released. We got a Discord Dev Drop In to get a sneak peek at the gameplay elements for this upcoming pack. And finally, The Sims and The Sims 2 have been added to the EA Play list! Quiet night in San Myshuno, posted here by Moochellie And now, time to jump into the highlights! 🤡 SimAmbassador is coming up with a very creative idea this week: creating sims based on memes or funny puns! This idea came up when noticing that a lot of builds don’t include clocks, which prompted the creation of Earl Lee II Bed, a wise thief who rises early (to steal food from other sims). And then came along Late IV Din-Air (she better not steal food too, she should show up on time for dinner!). Honestly, creating a full sim based on a pun, picking relevant traits and adding a matching backstory is a great work of art! As someone who has a passion for funny puns and memes, I absolutely respect the dedication. My only contribution was a grumpy sim I made years ago named “Jay Paletemps”, which would translate to “I don’t have the time” (or “j’ai pas le temps”), whose sole purpose what to be rude and mean to everyone… 🤭 📚 If you have been playing The Sims 4 for a while, you probably have a lot of builds, households and stories that you would like to keep track of. Well, you might find some motivation after you see PaxxieLovesDinos’ Sims Legacy, who just started a blog in order to compile all those experiences into one place! After playing for 6 years, there are already plenty of articles to keep track of all the different families and generations, as well as interesting recaps and details about all the various sims. So whether you’d like to catch up on what Dinos’ sims have been up to, or if you’d like some inspiration to start your own blog, make sure to check out the thread! 🏗️ For our Sims 3 simmers, we have another open world collaboration hosted by Hidehi2, Sandraelle and soocoolsim : Petite Alsace, inspired by the French cities of Strasbourg, Colmar and Ribeauville, that also carry a lot of German influence as they are very close to the border. As a Frenchie, I am very excited to see all of your creations, Alsace is such a beautiful place with the architecture, and there are already promising works in progress! As usual, everyone can join, claim a lot and start building while following the guidelines. The decoration is very classy and elegant, with darker walls and white floors and a matching wallpaper for some of the separating walls. There are some plants and blue chairs and sofas that add a pop of colour and a nice contrast to the rest of the decor and a touch of originality. If your famous sims are worried about being recognized in public, they can use some of the more private seats in order to enjoy their meal in peace. In no time, this restaurant will become the hot spot for all the superstars! ✍️ Finally, what would be The Sims community without your fantastic stories? This week, JesLet40 is blessing us with a new chapter of the famous Whittaker Saga. In this new rendition, Cathy and Steve are living together and learn to compromise over the apartment layout and decoration. Beth in the meanwhile has moved into a new house, and she focuses on her job, fitness training and appreciation for eating in front of the TV. Carl and Sydney have also been moving into their dream house, but Carl must eventually tell Sydney about his past… That concludes another week! If you are, the One Month One World One Year Challenge 2026 by belalucina (originally started by Karababy52) might be for you. The goal is simple: start with a teen sim, make them move and explore worlds, and post one screenshot per day during the year of 2026. There are other rules for this challenge that you can read in detail on the thread, but at the end of the year, you will basically end up with a mini-diary of your sim’s life, scattered over a full year. I think this idea is very nice, it’s kind of like having a sim that is growing along with you every day. I can’t wait to see all of your screenshots at the end of the year, it’s a very fun project! 👶 Next up, purplexbutterfly has a very important question: they need to find who would be the best sim to become the father of the future child of a very famous actress. But it must be a father who should also not get involved in anything as the actress wants to raise the baby on her own (and does not want a tube baby). So, we need to find an attractive male sim, who will not hang around for too long after... easy peasy right? Don Lothario could be a great choice, but purplexbutterfly is not feeling it. So maybe Brant Hecking then, but he might be too committed 🤔 There are more recommendations in the thread, someone is suggesting that the actress could pick a film director for example. If you have any more ideas, make sure to share them in the thread. Let’s hope the actress finds her match! 🎄 If you or your sims are not over Christmas yet, BreeMiles created a great Holiday Restaurant for our Sims 3 players. So if you want to extend the holidays and experience some Christmas magic, this would be the perfect place! Inside, everything is decorated with red and green items: red bricks, green pillars, red wood, green cushions… with of course a big Christmas tree and a fireplace. The restaurant can accommodate small and large groups and small children as well. This beautiful build might come in handy if you are already nostalgic of the holiday season. 🏡 sirhc59 is back this week with another fabulous Family Home made with only base game items. This house contains 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, and would be perfect for a large family or for a sim who needs a bit of space. There is a very nice back garden with a protected pool, so kids can roam and play freely. Inside, the rooms are nicely decorated with modern and colourful items. My favourite place is the luminous sun room at the side of the house, where sims can have a nice book or a cup of tea on a rainy afternoon, or doze off on the couch a sunny day. Lastly, for those who are planning a wedding in their game, LaylaFrisknut is sharing lots of helpful tips and advice to make sure that everything goes according to plan. For example, don’t hesitate to kick out unwanted visitors who will show up unexpectedly. Or make sure that there is enough room for your sims to walk around, because having an obstacle while the bride or groom walks down the aisle would ruin the mood a bit. Jehane40 has also replied by adding other tips, such as using smaller venues if possible.
