F1 Hotseat Evolution: Driver Swaps for Offline, LAN & Online!
Hey everyone,I want to pitch a concept that evolves the legendary 90s "Hotseat" mechanic from Grand Prix 2 into the ultimate multiplayer experience. We need a flexible driver-swapping mode supporting Offline, LAN, and Online play, complete with the tactical features that made it so addictive back then. The Core Mechanic & Deep Features:Multiple players share a race by taking turns driving different cars on the fly. While you aren't driving, the AI controls your car. To replicate the pure fun of the original, two key mechanics are essential:Qualifying Setup Strategy: Players configure their own custom car setups during qualifying. It was always incredibly exciting to see how well the AI performs with your specific setup and what lap times the computer manages to pull off using your custom tweaks while you watch.Customizable Swap Intervals: You can pre-determine the exact number of driver swaps during a race (e.g., 2, 3, 4, or more). This guarantees that every player gets to jump back into the cockpit multiple times per race, creating a highly dynamic and intensely fun experience. The Three Ways to Play:PURE OFFLINE (Couch Co-op): You and your friends sit in front of a single PC/Console. No extra hardware needed—just pass the controller/wheel and enjoy a full offline championship together.LAN PLAY (Local Network): Connect multiple PCs via LAN. Different groups can use the hotseat system on their own rigs and race directly against other setups in the same room.ONLINE MULTIPLAYER (Global Lobbies): Connect to the world. Your local couch-coop group plays via hotseat, but you compete live over the internet against other local groups around the globe. What are your thoughts on bringing back this tactical "Multi-Swap" approach? Would you play this with your friends on a weekend? Let's discuss!F1XL Season 28 - Sign Up Now
F1XL Season 28 is here! Racing begins on 12th July, with time trials now open! F1XL is the UK's longest running F1 League, having started way back on F1 2010 — and we haven’t skipped a single year since. We’ve grown from strength to strength, beginning on Xbox before expanding to full cross-platform, bringing together drivers from all over the world. Literally. We believe we offer something genuinely different in the F1 League scene. We are proudly aimed at a more casual audience. To keep things fair and accessible, we only use the in-game presets. No custom setups allowed. So what else makes us different? A unique Team Principal system A live broadcast Draft Night before the season starts, where Team Principals draft their squads across all divisions A weekly broadcast chat show (when possible) with race reviews and driver interviews As close to a full season as possible within realistic timeframes An outstanding, welcoming community with a robust but fair rule-set that delivers great on-track racing A season-ending All Star Race — a 100% feature race featuring the top drivers from all divisions A ridiculous amount of stats so our nearly 800 drivers across the years can see exactly how they stack up — plus all their accolades We race every Sunday at 9pm BST — 50% race distance with a single qualifying session. SDG Racing League is looking for a few new drivers to join us for Season 15! We are a VERY well organised league run by a mature and experienced group of drivers who have been racing together since F1 2010. We welcome drivers of all skill levels and from all over the world. We offer Tiers based on performance allowing everyone a chance to compete. We are particularly keen to find some very slow drivers to fill a Tier, so if you are looking to get involved in weekly league racing, but you're put off by the pace of the top drivers, we have a tier for you!! All we ask for is clean racing! Why choose SDG? We have averaged 18 drivers on the grid for several seasons now. Low DNF's and an average of 0.8 post race penalties handed out per race. We race hard, but clean and with respect! Some of the most in-depth stat tracking in League Racing! We have a complete database of all time statistics for every driver to have ever raced with us updated in real time! Come and see how you compare!! Cross-Platform! Midweek leagues and socials and an active and welcoming community of mature and drama free members! JOIN OUR DISCORD HERE!When will we see proper gameplay?
Will the embargo on YouTubers be lifted before 4pm on Launch Day? It is a little concerning that we are not being shown any actual raw gameplay footage before launch. That usually means there is something to hide. Would it not have been good marketing to let the YouTubers start showing their Career/My Team races and gameplay footage to build some hype and get F1 2026 Season Pack trending? I'm yet to even see it pop up on the Xbox Store. Im sure EACM want as many people to buy it as possible. Why is everything so quiet? Even this forum is a bit of a ghosttown. As a league owner, I want it to shift a few copies too so we have a wider pool of drivers to attract to our league. SDG Racing League - Discord HERE!Lapped car interval on Results Screen
Is it possible to show the actual gaps to the race winner on the Results Screen for lapped cars? This would be very useful for Leagues that want to apply time penalties post race. When 2 drivers finish a lap down, it just says +1 Lap, but I'd like to actually see the interval between the cars around them. as well.NAVFL Looking for Drivers for our 14th Season
Hey everyone, I'm an admin from the NAVFL (North American Virtual Formula League) and we're looking for drivers/new members of our community looking to race with us on the F1 25' game, moving over to the 26 DLC to compete in our 14th season. Will private multiplayer lobby sizes be increased from 22 to 24 to make space for two spectators with the 11th team? Most competitive leagues have streams with commentators, which is made possible by the fact that there are two extra spots in the player count for multiplayer lobbies. It would be good to know if that will be increased otherwise it would be impossible for leagues to have commentators while having 11 teams.Solved
