Marco van Basten rating refresh
I would like to provide feedback regarding the ratings and in-game representation of some Dutch Icons, particularly Marco van Basten and Johan Cruyff. Marco van Basten being rated only 91 does not accurately reflect his historical status in football. By the age of 28, when injuries had effectively ended his playing career, Van Basten had already won three Ballon d’Or awards. He was a European champion with the Netherlands, won the European Cup twice with AC Milan and was one of the defining players of one of the greatest club teams in football history. My main issue is not only his overall rating, but also his in-game representation. Van Basten is often portrayed in FC as a relatively slow and stiff traditional target striker. That does not represent the player he actually was. He was exceptionally technical for his size, elegant on the ball, intelligent in his movement, outstanding in the air and capable of scoring with both feet and from extremely difficult positions. When Icons such as Ronaldo Nazário, Zidane, Ronaldinho and Maldini receive significantly higher ratings, while Van Basten sits at 91, the difference seems difficult to justify based on their historical standing. Zlatan Ibrahimović being rated higher than Van Basten is particularly surprising. Zlatan had an extraordinary career and remarkable longevity, but Van Basten reached a level of individual recognition and success that included three Ballon d’Or awards despite having his career cut extremely short by injury. I also believe Johan Cruyff deserves reconsideration. Cruyff was not only one of the greatest players ever, but one of the most influential figures in the history of football. A noticeable rating gap between Cruyff and the very highest-rated legends such as Pelé and Maradona does not properly represent how highly Cruyff is regarded historically. This is not about making Dutch Icons overpowered simply because they are Dutch. It is about representing football history accurately. I would suggest: Marco van Basten: approximately 93–94 OVR, with significantly improved agility, ball control, dribbling, finishing, positioning and appropriate PlayStyles to represent his technical ability. Johan Cruyff: approximately 95 OVR and placed in the same highest historical tier as Pelé and Maradona. Most importantly, Icons should feel like the players they represent. Younger FC players who never watched Van Basten should be able to use his Icon card and understand why he won three Ballon d’Or awards before injuries ended his career. Marco van Basten should feel like one of the greatest strikers football has ever seen — because that is exactly what he was.14Views0likes1CommentPlayer career
Hi ea I absolutely loved the new Dynamic OVR feature in Manager Career Mode in fc 27 — it makedthe game feel abit more realistic and engaging. Please could you also add this feature to Player Career Mode too? It would make such a big difference — having your own player's rating go up when you perform well and drop when you're out of form would make every match feel important and so much more rewarding. It's exactly what Player Career needs to feel more immersive since you guys don’t do much to career anyway. Thanks ily mwa😘 im genuinely be serious though26Views1like1CommentEA needs to fix FC - the gameplay is at it's worse
Ok im gonna try this again, last time i spoke the truth i got a 1-day ban because EA doesn’t want the truth - they want to control the narrative - This is the worst iteration of FC i've ever played - the whole game is in mud - the EA business model and physics model are broken - the good news is 2k is coming and many more after - so there’s hope and at minimum, some much needed competition in the space. EA needs to prioritize gameplay!! This is a video game simulator - nothing more, nothing less - please make the game 1-to-1 response when playing Seasons online - please make the game fast and dynamic - the dribbler should have supreme control and quick lightning touches and speed - this is simple and basic - this was doable in 2004 - let’s make it happen now - also on defense - do the same - allow for ai track backs on loss of possession to be smart - track back and crowd the middle - simple, logical - also the servers need improvement. I’ve literally had hundreds of rage quits against me with no registration. This is not acceptable. Also, stop with the stealth slider updates - this is deceptive and you're prioritizing user volume over gameplay quality - literally everyday the game feels different - it’s like they have an ai model deciding metrics of the prior day and then makes adjustments to the game. Stop ai testing and have your human devs test it - if they are not having fun - the game is broken - it's simple. Stop prioritizing an animations-centric game and just allow for 1-1 responsive gameplay - animations are cool but right now the engine is not strong enough to include them - they eat too much memory and make for extremely slow gameplay - I recommend you stop prioritizing a model of close-scoring games (killing the skills gap) because it makes for awful soccer - you're doing results-orientated gaming which is backwards to a solid foundational game - this is short-sighted. I recommend you make seasons a faster, more dynamic gameplay that is fun and good for the true purists and enthusiasts and make your FUT for the micro-transactions you want. The thing is - and what makes it so frustrating - we’ve seen great iterations of FC before! Usually after a big gameplay update - the devs do great work, the game is flowing and fast, dynamic - and then, without fail, it goes downhill - 48hrs later the metrics report too many beginners are quitting - the skills gap is too high - not enough micro-transactions, etc - and the stealth updates come back with mud - literally this cycle has been playing out for years. Here is a link to this same article along with one I wrote in June on my substack in case it gets taken down again - I have violated no EA agreements but again, they don’t like having their feet to the fire: https://jeffreybowman88.substack.com/p/another-day-another-ea-fc-post https://jeffreybowman88.substack.com/p/the-siphon-why-ea-silences-its-own5Views0likes0Comments„Grip Socks“ addition | small detail, big realism boost.
It sounds like a small thing, but for realism fans, it's something that would make the game much more realistic... I'm talking about "Grip Socks," the white socks that peek out from under the cut-off socks that every footballer wears these days. In FC27, we finally get the really low "low socks," which is already a big plus! If you could add this little detail of Grip Socks, it would be a huge improvement for everyone who values realism. I don't think it's a complicated programming task, but it's a big detail that would take realism to a whole new level. I would be delighted if this detail were added to FC27, perhaps via an update.407Views8likes8CommentsAllgemeine Frage
61Views0likes4CommentsCareer Mode idea :
Let youth players return to the Academy In real football, young players can train with the first team, play a few games, and then return to the youth team to continue developing. In Career Mode, once a youth player is promoted, they can never go back. It would be great to allow academy-eligible players (especially under 18) to move between the Youth Academy and the first team. This would make youth development much more realistic and give managers more control over their young talents.13Views0likes0CommentsThis is why im not buying FC 27
The FC 26 development team at EA Vancouver and EA Romania did not simply fail. They engineered failure while treating the player base with open contempt. These are the people who looked at years of clear feedback and decided the bold move was to make free progression in Ultimate Team even more miserable. They reduced rewards, slowed the power curve just enough to punish anyone who refused to spend, and watched major creators publicly abandon the mode while the rest of the community quietly left. That was not an accident. That was the design. Make the non-spenders suffer so the only remaining path is the store. They marketed the entire release around better communication and listening. They filled pre-launch interviews and Pitch Notes with promises. Then the second the full-price copies stopped selling they went silent for months. When they finally spoke it was only to admit they “missed the mark.” Missed the mark on the one thing they had spent months claiming was their priority. The same team that demanded trust before launch decided the players who actually buy and grind the game were not worth consistent updates or honest dialogue once the money was secured. On the pitch they delivered the same broken defending, unreliable passing, and lifeless AI positioning that has defined the series for years. They patched one problem and immediately created three more. Spinning metas, unresponsive fullbacks, goalkeepers who forget how to move, and a Career Mode still full of the same ancient bugs and unrealistic systems. Decade-old issues treated like optional extras. This was never just incompetence. It was a calculated lack of respect. They knew what the community wanted. They nodded along. Then they shipped a product that showed exactly how little those players mattered once the pre-order numbers were locked in. Every delayed response, every half-measure patch, every quiet removal of grindable content sent the same message: your time and your feedback are optional. They should not get to hide behind “we are listening” any longer. Listening without acting is just noise. Promising better communication and then vanishing is not a mistake. It is a choice. And that choice proved, once again, that the people in charge of FC 26 are structurally incapable of delivering anything better while the cycle continues.59Views2likes2Comments
