Daily Deal (DD) 2018 Rotation List and Sales Help
The Daily Deal List and Sales Help The editing issues with this thread have been fixed by EA_David! The long process now begins to relink hyperlinks where possible and to delete information relevant only to the previous forum. Note that the lists of daily deals in the posts at the beginning of this thread are under review as entries were eliminated during the migration from the previous forum. For an accurate list, see the new posts in this thread that RadicalChick posts daily. Also view the DD spreadsheet. The Sims 3 Store Daily Deal offers a selected store item at a discounted price for one, two or three hours. Many of the items are discounted at 75% off or more. The current Daily Deal list, which was introduced on September 23, 2014 at 12:07 a.m. UTC, includes 977 deals. After the 977th deal ends, the deals begin at Deal 1 again. A full rotation of the list takes 82 days. (See this post for background information about the Daily Deal list.) The first page of this thread has been set up to include the list of the deals, and to include information that was available on the first page of the previous DD threads. To the first time user, this thread contains a lot of information. To help you find the information you are seeking, the first post is a contents list with hyperlinks to posts and threads within the Sims 3 forum to help Simmers own the store or at least as much content as they would like and, to get the most value for their simpoints. Note - This thread replaces the original "September 2014 Daily Deals Rotation List" thread created by Ximph that you may see referenced in comments below. The original thread is now closed and relevant information from that thread can be found within this thread. ***** NOTEWORTHY EA App and Store content - EA_Cade has confirmed that all Sims 3 content owned in the web store is compatible with the EA app. See the original post here. EA_Cade also provides a link to download Origin Thin Setup should you want to reinstall Origin. If you are having difficulties downloading store content in the EA app, check out this thread in EA Answers HQ. However, EA_Cade posted in Answers HQ that "This issue should now be resolved with the latest EA app update (please ensure that you are on EA app build 12.115.0.5372 or later). " Merelhyn created a thread to provide simmers with guidelines on purchasing all the sets, compilations and venues available in the Sims 3 Store for the least amount of simpoints. SpiredMoth's Cheapest Paths website provides updates to Merelhyn's guidelines with 2022 costs for the cheapest paths to complete of sets and compilations. SpiredMoth has also created the S3S Tools spreadsheet to help save as many simpoints as possible with your store purchases. The spreadsheet includes the Make Me an Offer Checker and Complete Your Set calculator. An attempt to get the badge where a sim has 30 grandchildren. This one starts out with screen shots as I didn't get the 'brilliant idea' to make videos of them until this morning. But there is moving video for most of the time. You get to meet the mother, the father and all the kids. But only briefly. I didn't actually introduce them all. You just see them doing stuff and being sim children. I hope you enjoy it. https://youtu.be/FjRu88-jwBM1.7KViews1like115Comments✿ Love Kids Stuff? Well Check This Out! ✿ Portuguese

Okay, I have been lurking on the Daily Deal and Cascades threads (which are absolutely fantastic). But these threads are listings deals and cascades, as their names say, and so it’s not always immediately clear what the cheapest way to go is. Some of the information is not present on the first page but drowned on the following pages of these very long threads. The first page list ways which are efficient, but not the absolute best way to go. I made my own guidelines inspired by these threads and I thought it may be still relevant today since we have new people coming regularly to the forums. Cheapest way to own individual sets/combo set/compilation/venue Absolute cheapest way to own the set (if you have nothing else in the store). Warnings: * All these assume you only want the considered set. If you want more objects, please check the compilations those belong to too. For example, if you want only It’s Game Time!, it’s cheaper to go to the Daily Deal (objects then set, total 64 sp). But if you want also Level Up, acquiring only this set (130 sp) will give you the whole of Man Cave Compilation down the line, including It’s Game Time!, with a totally different way to go. So be sure of what you want before starting. * All these assume you don’t own anything in the store. If you already own items or sets, there may be a cheapest way to go for you. Owning “featured sets” can be a great way to cheapen the prices, because it gives you items across several sets. Owning some sets can lower the price of the compilation enough that some other sets become free, etc. As soon as you start owning some items, there will be new cheaper ways to go! Summary: Go to: compilations Go to: combo sets Go to: special sets (featured, bundle…) Go to: set (A to L) Go to: set (L to Z) Go to: venues Even cheaper? I know that many years ago some kind of promotion happened and Barnacle Bay became free for many people. It was not for me. From time to time, I see people posting that they just got it for free. I just thought that it was there the whole time for them and they just did not notice it. I do always check just in case. I saw someone post the same thing this morning on an other platform. I went to check as usual and I had the blue download button !! So, just a heads up if you dont own Barnacle bay. Go check the store and you might get a surprise !411Views1like9CommentsAchievement Thread - Guide on how to achieve them
I decided to start a new achievement thread, to help fellow simmers who might be needing it. At the moment, it still could be typos galore, though, so I will most likely have to edit it several times... I came up with the following categorization: Easiest achievements are what I refer to as the item type achievement, which requires you to acquire a specific item and use them sometimes once, sometimes couple times. They are also the most numerous ones. They are listed like: "Perform the "Genious IQ" interaction five times". Most can be done by anyone, and once you've performed whatever you have to do, sell said item and move on to the next "chore". Next are gathering type achievements, which require you to acquire some items and, sometimes to use them. Listed like "Collect 10 space rocks" or "Use the gem cutting machine to cut gems 20 times". Again, those can be completed by anyone, and do not need a specially created sim. Next are venues type achievements. Require you to do something specific (or several specific actions) at a specific place (or a small number of specific places) (places here meaning either venues or rabbitholes), like "Have your face painted (and etc...) at the festival". Once again, most of those can be completed by anyone, and do not need a specially created sim, though at time some traits might help. Next are social type achievements. Require you to perform social interactions with other sims and/or achieve a set level of relationship with a single or more sims. Traits definitely help for those. Next are career type achievements. Require you to reach a certain level in a specific career and, at times, to do something specific. Traits definitely help for those. Next are skills type achievements. Most of the time, require you to do an action or interaction that is specific to a specific skill, or that mainly require this skill. Traits definitely help for those. Next are traits type achievements. Require you to have a sim with a specific trait and perform something specific. Like: "Have an Insane sim talk to themselves 15 times". Next are lifewishes type achievements. Require you to have a sim with a specific lifewhish and fulfill it. Traits definitely help for those. Complex achievements are those that require multiple complex actions, and sometimes a great deal of gametime. However, there are not many of them. Online achievements are achievements that may or may not have little to do with the game itself, but rather with the TS3 online community. Bugged achievements are achievements that are bugged for some reasons and won’t trigger. I’ve listed three of them. There are also some other achievements that are no longer unlockable, and that I’ve listed as having been removed by EA. I couldn’t find an exhaustive list of all of them, so if anyone has a link about those, it would be appreciated. Also, though basic achievements can be done in a single action, some players may be tempted to get the more elaborate ones using multiple sims or households. So I added a note when an achievement requires to be fulfilled by a single sim (Sim specific), or pools all your household efforts (Household specific), or pools all your sims efforts, in all the saves you play using a specific computer together, for its fulfillment (Cross saves). A word of advice regarding achievements: Unless explicitly required to do so, avoid working on an achievement using or targeting an occult, as a lot of them won’t trigger. I’ve also added some personal tips and suggestion. There are some achievements that I still haven’t unlocked, and I marked those accordingly. The following list is an updated version of: http://simsvip.com/sims-3-achievements/ http://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/achievements.php as some achievements have since been added or removed.32KViews1like574CommentsHow To Install Store Items
My old step-by-step guide on how to install your store items without duplicate files with all the links has disappeared! It was here: http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/807788/reinstall-store-stuff-no-repeats-or-disappearing Thanks to the way back machine (and @Simasaurus09), you can still find it here: https://web.archive.org/web/20170430232315/http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/807788/reinstall-store-stuff-no-repeats-or-disappearing You avoid all the crazy download redirects by using Sim File Share. So, the excel spreadsheet I have titled a reinstall guide is here: http://www.simfileshare.net/download/838415/ (New old load because of a missing link!) I have another spreadsheet with links that shows which sets are part of what compilations and combinations. It's color-coded and includes Y for Yes, install or N for No, do NOT install. Every set is listed, so you won't miss anything (hopefully). It was the logic behind the other spreadsheet. https://simfileshare.net/download/181787/ The spreadsheets first page shows exactly what files to merge together into each .ebc file in the dccache folder, as well as how large those files actually are when compressed on my computer. (Results vary from system to system.) I like to see everything at a glance, so this is my full compiliation. I have 25 fairly full .ebc files and one that isn't full. https://iamciane.files.wordpress.com/2015/12/p1.png Each line (or two) shows what is installed together into an .ebc file in the dccache folder. (This is where the launcher installs the files.) The line starts with the number of the .ebc file and its total size, which varies a bit from one computer to another. Next, you'll find the size and name of each store install. The "0" file contains all the unique patterns, Midnight Hollow Gold with toy shop venue, the mid-century dining chair that must be installed before the set, and the bow tie shoes that are shown in the Victorian set, but were left out. (I just had extra room after installing the world and patterns.) After installing those files, I move that .ebc file out of the dccache folder and install the files on the next line. After installing the items of each .ebc file, you must rename the "0" to the next number up and then move that file out to join the others. When all done, you rename the last file and move the others back into dccache folder. I did heavily abbreviate, but tabs contain each file name and link. I tended to color code by type of file and install like types together. Then, I'd throw in something else if there was room.24KViews2likes442Comments
