Edit - 15/10/26:
📋TESTING:Following early data showing promising impacts to queue times and tighter match skill-widths, we will be expanding this test to Wildcard matchmaking as well. This test expansion will be live at 10am PT, on October 16th and will impact players on all platforms in US-West.

📋TESTING:We have activated a matchmaking test that increases maximum queue times for Plat+ players on all platforms, in all regions. The queue time increase scales with Rank tier, and Masters players could expect a maximum extension of approximately 30 seconds. This test is in pursuit of tighter skill bands in high skill matches and less spill over of high rank players into mid-rank matches, as the matchmaker spends more time prioritizing the tightest possible lobbies before expanding its search. This test will run until the end of the season, or until we have enough data. Please continue to give feedback on if you are experiencing tighter matchmaking.

This initiative does not address the root cause and is very likely to prove ineffective. Furthermore, it carries the risk of creating a false sense of accomplishment that developers have taken action to address the issue, offering no real benefits while introducing  drawbacks.

Active population and total account count are completely different things. No matter how much you merge servers or extend queue times, it is meaningless if the number of players actually online and playing in that rank tier during that timeframe is low. Instead of focusing on increasing the overall capacity, the focus should be on reducing dormant accounts and increasing the active player population in Plat+. Otherwise, nothing will change, and lower-ranked players will continue to get pulled into lobbies with Predators and Masters. You are missing the real reason behind Matching miss.

The current approach is like making a colander bigger to hold more water despite it being full of holes. While taking action is commendable, it is equally vital to pause and evaluate the underlying cause first. Please engage with data with a clear sense of purpose—understanding why you are collecting it and how it connects to the next steps—rather than simply gathering numbers for the sake of collecting them.

Yeah great job I love being d2 and getting matched with top 750 cheaters wow matchmaking is so good and the development team is really on top of people blatantly cheating the game in every way every single match for hours every day.

I have never, not once, had an issue with how long it’s taken to find a game. I have 62k ltk and i am a perpetual diamond player, and I almost never have to wait more than a couple of minutes to find a match.

What I do have an issue with, every game that I encounter it, is PC players being allowed into my console lobbies. I notice it immediately and the difference is undeniable.

  • I’ve been playing this game since season 1. I love this game. This new “test” for matchmaking and faster queue times has made this game unplayable for myself and friends as console players. Incorporating PC with console feels like I’m playing with more cheaters and don’t get me wrong I love the cheating bans but this isn’t it. If you want more people to come back to this game start creating fresh content and fun events like the early seasons. Bring back OG skull town and polar express. Listen to the fans. All we got for Halloween is a bunch of over priced recolor skins and a half **bleep** event. Where’s all the lore and love for this game going? Feels like it’s just a money pit.
