I remember that video. If that is the case though, it will be interesting to see how they deal with camouflage customization. i.e. Will you only be able to change the pattern, or will there be a range of colours for each team similar to insurgency? Likewise if we get dark maps and night vision, how will that work?
I know we are only pre-Alpha, but looking forward to a real Battlefield game, not a COD clone on a large map.
I have owned every Battlefield game since BF2 (apart from Hardline) but BFV put me off from the start. Not for the reasons most people hated it (although that didn't help), but more the fact that the British troops were for the most part wearing US uniforms and wearing US webbing. As the special characters were released it continued with German troops wearing Italian uniforms (if you want to do that have Italians in the game) or skins such as the British Cavalry Commando where they have a green Commando beret with a Parachute Regiment cap badge (never the twain shall meet). While the Robert the Bruise skin with a red beret and SAS badge could be mistaken for an airborne beret (which the SAS did wear in Normandy) it is red for the Military Police, not the Maroon of the paras. All that seemed to matter was selling skins as per COD or Fortnite.
BF2042 is near future, so they don;t have the same issue with uniform realism (especially as this seems to have a high mercenary content, rather than national armies) and it gives a reason for weapons, etc to be mixed and used by both sides.
Fingers crossed and hoping for something great.
Do we know anything yet about how spotting the enemy works?

Seems like every aspect of the game is trying to promote team play with vehicles needing more people to be affective bigger maps more players introduction of sectors and then they turn around with specialists and go out of the way to reinforce the "one man army" trope we already find in a lot of shooters.. I will wait to see what the rest of the uniques for the remaining specialists are but right now at least two of them are inconsequential to team play, grapple hook and wing suit bring nothing to a team dynamic. Would rather see that as an optional generic instead keeping two of the specialists with selfish uniques.
EDIT: Some actual squad gameplay and show and tell regarding specialists loadouts/interface is the first stop Dice NEEDS to make. While the interview provided needed clarity imo did nothing to alleviate concerns surrounding specialists and team dynamic. Everything else was great and loved the info for the most part.
