Lol. You didn't ship BF1 and BFV like everyone else? I have a hard time assuming a "diehard" fan would have bought those games.
2042 is a step to the side. It's different, but at its core it's still the same. Imagine they just brought in NEW classes. They canned assault, medic, support, and recon, and swapped in 5 new classes with their own set of abilities. Why is that a bad thing again?
Further, everyone seems to be forgetting Portal mode. I'm certain that will be the most popular game mode, as someone is likely going to create a traditional BF4 portal and it will be extremely popular.

Please add battlelog in style BF3/BF4
- 4 years ago@Pryde444 When weak kneed cowards run the development and decisions side, you get this drivel we are being fed. We are just going to have to fully rely on Portal. You see the mentality is we are all so stupid, we don’t know what we want, only they do. The reality is when you are a * and slave to money, you leave your roots and what made you to chase whatever gimmick is popular. Fans be damned. I hope for the average DICE developer who had nothing to do with decisions do not be the ones who pay for the cowardice of those up high if this game is crushed in sales and people lose their jobs. Sadly a lack of accountability is steadily becoming a mainstay in the business. Battlefield desperately needed a win after BF1 and BFV. If heads roll and jobs are lost, leadership you need to show your neck and not let those under your charge suffer for your lack of convictions.

It does seem like where specialists are concerned you have solely focused on the ID issues we were having (which were there and bad so thanks for at least starting to address these). However, it feels like you have actively ignored all the other issues people had with specialists and their contribution to the death of the class system.
- How do we know from a visual perspective who to avoid/kill first (Threat analysis based on equipment load out and sillhouette)?
- How do we know who is carrying what gadget?
- Why can every specialist carry every gadget? This removes a lot of the rock, paper, scissors element of your series.
- Why can every specialist carry every weapon? (same concerns as above)
Specialists could have very easily been absorbed into the class structure with the extra abilities added on (not that I love them but I can appreciate they're something new to the mix). But instead you chose to throw away a core battlefield pillar (the classes) and keep suggesting the reasoning is to "improve the sandbox". It's such a CoD influenced move that it deeply saddens me. I've been a BF player since BF2 and have pretty much enjoyed every one (except BF Heroes). I was not one of the beta complainers on the launch of every game because the fixes were doable and it never seemed like a huge jump to fix, but to change the foundation of your game the way you have this time has caused me to be one these hugely disappointed fans on your forums. You clearly care more about CoD, APEX players than you do your long time players and it's a shame and you've been willing to not only tweak, but rewrite the formula this time to appease these players and sell cosmetics ☹️ .

It's obvious the specialists are in the game for a pay to win system. I got the ultimate edition which comes with the first season pass. It says I will get 4 extra specialists, so basically if you don`t get the season pass you will have less specialists to choose from.
