The Battlefield Community Guidelines

Community is at the core of Battlefield, and we’re excited by how our community has grown since the first iterations of Battlefield nearly 20 years ago. With Battlefield 2042, staying true to our core and ensuring Battlefield is a welcoming experience that encourages Positive Play for all remains essential.

Alongside Battlefield, the spaces where our players come together for their love of the game have also evolved. Community is no longer solely an in-game experience, and for that reason we’ve created Community Guidelines outlining our expectations for our community members.

As a community, we play the objective, together.

No-Pats Follow The Rules

Battlefield is a globally inclusive and diverse community where any race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, heritage or country of origin is welcome.

If you are joining us in Battlefield then you are expected to abide by the following rules:

  • Treat Others As They Would Like To Be Treated - Squad up and play the objective, together. We won’t tolerate players who negatively disrupt or engage in harmful behavior towards others.

  • Keep Things Fair - Be on the right side of the fight. If you see players breaking the rules, report them.

  • Share Appropriate Content - Don’t fight dirty. Make sure whatever content you’re sharing is appropriate for Battlefield players.

  • Keep Things Honorable - Protect your squad. Keep it legal in Battlefield, and do not participate or encourage in dangerous or illegal activities.

Failing to follow these guidelines will have consequences meaning your time on the battlefield will come to an end. We may place restrictions on your account and revoke your access to Battlefield 2042. If you have repeat or severe instances, we may permanently terminate your EA account.

Treat Others As They Would Like To Be Treated

Squad up and play the objective, together. We won’t tolerate players who negatively disrupt or engage in harmful behavior towards others. Here are some things you can do to ensure you are doing your part to make Battlefield as welcoming as possible.

Respect others on the Battlefield
It costs nothing to treat your fellow players with dignity. Cooperate with your squad and show new players the ropes by providing helpful pointers.

Fight cleanly
Don’t harass, threaten, bully, spam, or do anything else to another player that is unwanted. Treat everyone with the same level of respect you’d like them to treat you with.

Report violations of protocol
See someone harassing or impersonating another player or partaking in hateful conduct? Or do you feel unsafe while playing a match? Use the in-game report function, or let us know via EA Help.

Report feedback
Do you have feedback about a particular feature or issue you’ve run into during your time with Battlefield 2042? Let us know through our Battlefield forums.

Keep Things Fair

Be on the right side of the fight. If you see players breaking the rules, report them.

Don’t cheat
Don’t do it. Don’t even think about doing it. Cheating includes using exploits, undocumented features, design errors, bugs or other problems that unfairly give you the leg up on your opponent. Fair play is an essential part to maintaining the enjoyability of the Battlefield experience - don’t be the person who ruins everyone’s day.

Don’t be a nuisance
Actively annoying players by spamming chat with distracting messages or blocking other players’ access points to the objective is just as bad as cheating.

What’s yours is yours. Protect it.
Do not trade or sell your EA account to any players, and do not buy an EA account from other players.  It’s against our rules and may be actioned. To keep your account safe, we recommend you turn on Login Verification.

Learn the rules of engagement
Battlefield has a variety of modes with different objectives and rules. Take the time to learn and understand the requirements of each mode, either by learning from the in-game tutorials, other Battlefield 2042 players, or EA Help.

Share Appropriate Content

Don’t fight dirty. Make sure whatever content you’re sharing is appropriate for Battlefield players.

Think twice before you share
Always make sure whatever content you’re about to share in-game isn’t offensive. Don’t share or create content that is abusive, hateful, lewd, threatening, or unlawful. This includes usernames, server names and Experiences made in Battlefield Portal. If you have to ask yourself if it’s offensive, chances are it’s best not to share.

If you can’t say something nice...
Don’t spam the chat with profanity or try to get away with it by replacing certain letters with symbols. We know what you’re trying to do. It’s not that clever.

Keep Things Honorable

Protect your squad. Keep it legal in Battlefield and do not participate in or encourage dangerous or illegal activities.

This includes:

  • Blackmail
  • Doxxing
  • Drug use
  • Extorting
  • Fraud
  • Gambling
  • Making personal or terrorist threats
  • Swatting
  • Soliciting minors for sexual imagery or favors

Be the Squad Leader for your community
If you see incidents harmful to the community then be sure to report them through the tools available to you.

We are dedicated to ensuring that the Battlefield community remains healthy and inclusive. We will not ban players unless the situation absolutely calls for it. However, we will take action to protect our players against harmful behavior, cheating, and illegal activity. When you sign up for an EA account and/or use an EA Service, you agree to the rules in our User Agreement by checking the “I Agree” box. You can review the full list of rules in Section 6 of our User Agreement.

Consequences

The Battlefield Community Guidelines are part of EA’s commitment to Positive Play, and apply to all EA games, services, and platforms. If you break any of our Community Guidelines or violate our User Agreement, we may place restrictions on your account and revoke your access to certain or all EA Services. A short-term ban or suspension is our way of preventing further disruptive behavior and asking you to reexamine how you behave so you can learn from mistakes. We're not mad at you; you just need a break.

If you do receive a ban or suspension on your account, we’ll always send you an email informing you of the action and explain the reason behind our decision. We take these measures not to punish our players, but rather to ensure our communities remain positive, fun, fair and safe for all. If you believe that any action has been taken against your Account or device in error, you can reach out to Customer Support at help.ea.com.

Repeat or Severe Offenses

If you have repeat or severe instances, we may permanently terminate your account. This includes all of your EA Accounts if you have more than one account.

When your EA Account is terminated, you will lose your username and access to the account. If you think the action taken against you is by mistake, let us know.

Remember, Play The Objective, and report harmful behavior if you see it. For more details on our Battlefield Community Guidelines, visit battlefield.com.

Yeah is all a bunch of press they must give out and then also can lean on whenever they want. We have no rights as users, other than international law which governs how they use our data which why would they even tell us they are doing it wrong or for profit against those rules. So selling games with profanity but you are punished by some tool box kids that don’t like you repeating what they say on your screen is why games keep losing players. The little kids only get to play a couple hours normally in their rich little house. While the rest of us are grown and have to live with some dictator kids that in fact aren’t even supposed to play the game by the esrb rating. Wonderful world of getting screwed by corrupt corporations who only care about money.

Sometimes it will show rush modes normally it just has conquest mode or zombies. We can’t create any lobbies, or i would play rush with ai or whatever but portal is so broken you can’t use it. The game can’t even show you a full list of recent players so its not gonna populate a server list. It’s such a scam with so many signs it’s maybe in third round beta stage but it’s still sold as a new game. Unfair sales licensing and use of international distribution i cant begin to point out how many different ways they should be out of the market.
they will only continue to fix what the little kids and hackers/cheating exploiters need. I’m sorry for your time and effort but it’s truly such a disappointing game I want the entire industry rehauled. We as the customers have no rights or say or even a mediator let alone a credible source for approving games, they stopped at giving games a esrb rating. At least I got that accomplished/started.
