I assumed that meant that the team are aiming for more "show don't tell" with Rene, instead of having notifications saying what is happening on screen and colors and emotional buffs displayed below the player is supposed to understand what is happening by just playing because the game is showing small hints of what is happening and what a sim is feeling. Instead of having to look at a UI to tell how much a sim likes one another maybe you could be able to tell just by the way sims are talking with each other.

But yeah, that quote is maybe not the best.
