My concern is the lack of things to do for babies toddlers and kids. The game seems almost obsessively focused on single young adult social sims and family gameplay is forgotten. Babies are objects and can largely be ignored without consequences as long as you direct a sim to feed and change it occasionally. Toddlers have few items/options (though this has slowly improved we usually only get just a small amount of items/clothes for them in packs/updates) again toddlers can be ignored with only minimum care without consequence even their skills or lack of them have little effect on the sim as they grow. Kid sims have the same 4 aspirations they’ve had since the beginning and again can be ignored with minimum care. They have little depth. There is literally no consequence for doing the bare minimum in these life stages. At most you’ll get a very slight skill gain bonus as an adult for doing everything but it’s not necessary.
There are no real consequence to anything you do in the game.
