Feedback on the Bug Forum needed
- Main Bug Collecting is still done at AHQ - Hi everyone, I've spend the last couple days cleaning up the bug forum and now I'm interested to hear what you think of it. I don't want to go into details on how I think it should work. I want to hear how it feels to someone who newly ventures into the bug forum or tries to report something. Cade did make a post here: General Information About The Bug Reports Forum | EA Forums - 4965007 to give some general info and of course it has all the downsides this forum generally has but I'm interested in the special features the bug forum here work out for you. The main differences currently are: There's no template, tags are used instead A bug has a status by which you can filter. There's upvotes instead of me toos (upvotes are not likes, they work like the me toos to show how wide-spread the issues are) What do you think of the bug forum here ? What do you feel is missing ? What is unclear ? I'm specifically interested in these question: How does the flow of the bug forum feel to you ? Do you understand what status a bug is currently in and what they generally mean? If you reported something and it was closed down, do you know why it was closed down and what to do next to get help/see that your issue is reported properly ? How does the sorting in this particular forum feel to you ? Do you understand which tags to put for your particular issue ? Do you easily re-find your post know when you've gotten an answer ?53Views0likes2Comments- Frn07312 days agoNew Traveler41Views0likes6Comments
New Here! Looking for Tips on Making the Most of EA Forums
Hi everyone, I’m new to the EA community and wanted to introduce myself! I’ve always been a big fan of games like The Sims and FIFA, and I’m looking forward to being part of this community. I’ve heard a lot about how helpful everyone is here, so I thought it’d be a great place to join in, learn, and hopefully contribute too. Since I’m still figuring things out, I wanted to ask—are there any specific tips for getting the most out of the forums? Are there threads or sections that are especially active or helpful for newcomers? I’d also love to know how to get involved in community discussions or events. Thanks in advance for any guidance, and I’m excited to get started!andileluthuli2 days agoSeasoned Newcomer34Views2likes2CommentsGet help on AHQ for FC 25, other games and non-English support

Please help.
I am trying to post a story with images on one of my threads, but keep getting an error message come up saying: 'This content is not published. Invalid HTML. Please remove this before posting. Lib- sim.' (no idea what the last bit means). The story is pasted in plain text from a Word doc and have tried uploading each image via the option in the bottom bar (From Computer) instead of copying and pasting but it still won't let me publish the story. There is no HTML content used in the story, it's all from my computer, so am not sure why I keep getting a message about invalid HTML content. I am wondering if it's the length that's causing issues, as when I do shorter posts with one or two images, it works perfectly fine. I notice there doesn't seem to be a spoiler option on the bar for new posts/replies after the main introductory post so I can't get the long post into a spoiler. Has anyone else had the same issue when trying to post stories (can't find related topics in Search)? And if so, have you managed to solve it?WhatCobblers3 days agoRising Vanguard24Views0likes2CommentsYou've reached your limit for uploading images
Trying to post an image a few days ago I just got the message that I've reached my upload limit for images, and that I cannot post images any longer. What is even more surprising is that this applies to linked to images as well - even though they do not cause strain on the servers at all and is NOT uploaded to the servers. Just to be clear, I've cleared cash, logged out, logged in again and tried different threads as well as different images, and still the same result. This is not a temporary glitch. I've since read the rules very carefully and NO WHERE can I find the information that there is a limit to how many images I may upload or link to. With a community so based on pictures as the sims-community is this is make it or break it. I cannot take part in screenshot threads started by the gurus. I cannot upload images of my builds in threads asking for images. I cannot complete my projects of NoCC decades fashion. I cannot complete my story by using screenshots, nor start any stories in the future. In essence, I am unable to take part in a large part of what makes this community. EA_Cadeand EA_Nils I have written to you both privately on this matter and yet I get no answer. Is this really what it's supposed to be like?JesLet404 days agoSeasoned Ace43Views0likes2CommentsFeedback on new Sims forum
I want to offer some feedback... I've tried. I really have, but I don't think I can use these forums. They are cluttered, from the "sidebar" that occupies almost a third of the screen to the "preview" text, to the choice of glaringly bright colors. With so much being shoved at me at once, it becomes physically painful for me to try to read or post. I'm getting headaches trying to use them forums. They do not appear to be designed to support discussion, but rather tech support style question-and-answer posts. The way replies are sorted, and nested, and the lack of "page numbers" in favor of "show more" all combine to make it extremely difficult to follow a chronological progression of comments in a thread. I genuinely feel that these forums are the wrong tool for the job... they're like using a hammer to cut wood. You can do it, but you shouldn't.luciusstorm8 days agoSeasoned Veteran598Views27likes26CommentsForum Feedback on seeing replies
This is a copy and paste from MasterSeedy post in Swgoh discussions and thought I would post it here for better visibility as I agree with everything said there "This is, in part, just a function of how navigation works in general on these forums, but I thought the people still working on the forum programming should take note of the fact that when I get an alert that someone has replied to a discussion in which I've taken part, that's not inherently bad. But if I click on that notification, I expect to be taken to the new replies. Instead, the person clicking is taking to the default page for that discussion which, if popular, won't include any of the most recent replies. And if you scroll tot he bottom and click on "more replies," the interface does add new replies --- but in the process of adding them, it automatically scrolls you right back up to the top again. Nor is there a button for revealing ALL replies. instead you scroll to the bottom, click more replies, get autoscrolled to the top, scroll back down to the bottom, click more replies again, and get returned to the top again, repeating several times for longer discussions. This is tedious and is exactly the opposite of what people reading a forum want. You hit more replies to see the new stuff, not to be shoved back into the heart of the old stuff. And you hit the notification button to go to the thread in the first place to see the new stuff, not the old stuff. Both the notification button and the "more replies" button should reveal all the newest replies, and take your browser to those new replies automatically. The entire point of hiding replies is to make navigation easier, but with this set up it does not. I would rather have to scroll past hundreds of messages once than scroll past the first 20, then return to the top, then scroll past the first 40, then return to the top, and so on. Eventually I'm going to have to scroll past all those hundreds of messages to get to the new ones anyway. The current interface just makes it so that I have to do so over and over and over again. Targeted links from your notification page, a "reveal all replies" button, and the ability to maintain one's place on the page while revealing new replies are all necessary here. Pagination rather than hiding replies would also be much preferable to the current system, though with the other 3 options implemented pagination could be considered optional. At least I have my memories of better Forums from the Sims 1 and especially the Sims 2 days. But just remember one day you will be an elder and maybe then you will then understand. Yes time doesnt stand still does it! Why do things have to be so complicated and why when something works perfectly well you have to implicate changes. You even make us use your avatar picture. Nothing special anymore. It may just be unpopular opinion, but I find these new forums to be painstakingly difficult to read ,(text is tiny, and colors are blinding), follow thread, my hand hurts from scrolling through hundreds of post I already read since day one to get to current. It is not nice to read the start and the end post, but not the text between. It is curios to read and communicate like that. Hi! This is for the team at EA who are hopefully picking up on feedback and looking to constantly improve these new forums. What I’d like to stress, and ask for from all us lovely Simmers, is that this isn’t a place for being overly negative, aggressive or angry towards the team or specific staff. I’ve seen quite a few reactions that are just that and if we want to improve things, while we don’t have to be overly positive either, we need to be constructive at least. Having been a member of the original Sims forums and the newer rendition in recent years, I think it’s fair to say what keeps the forums running is the sense of community. So a few things I think that would help this would be: customisation for profiles - avatars, signatures, adding social media links or blogs/websites so we can find each other elsewhere. Paying specific attention to each rendition of the game, the Sims 3 community is massive and has been around a lot longer. So please consider us when making changes! I can see the sims 4 forum/threads already have plenty more tags and options than ours do as well as sub forums that we haven’t been able to keep. We have a whole community of storytellers that benefitted from the stories and legacies subforum and whether the game is 15 years old or not it deserves to live on. Changes to the formatting of threads and replies. I’ve noticed it is already hiding multiple replies under a “show more” filter which limits conversation. Also nesting replies is confusing, the original board style was much easier to navigate and chat on, which is what these forums are all about. As already highlighted, changing the automatic filtering by likes to newest would make it feel more relevant and conversational as a quick fix in the mean time. I personally miss being able to bookmark threads, especially since the sims 3 forums have lost our sub forums and all the migrated ones are in the franchise discussion (please rectify this!). I can’t navigate to what I want to read and am losing track of what I’ve chatted on unless I get notified. Could we also have a list of the rankings just out of interest? I have no idea what a traveler is but apparently I am one 😂 As always, super grateful to the team for taking feedback on board and looking forward to improvements and developments as they come! Happy Simming! LizzieLizzielilyy26 days agoRising Ace1.7KViews23likes110CommentsNecroposting not good - so why do the forum advertise 5 years old threads?
When in a thread I get a list of "related posts" to the right. Typically, those posts will be 5 or 7 years old. Recently I commenting in one of them, a thread about graveyards that I thought was highlighted this way due to the new pack. Old thread but very relevant these days thanks to the upcoming Life & Death pack. The result was that the thread got closed because it was considered necroposting. So - WHY do the forum list all those old threads if we can not post on them? My suggestion is that threads that are too old for commenting on, are automatically set to "read only" and NOT advertised as a "hey, come check out this necro-thread". Or, ther could at least be a gravestone/grim or similar symbol indicating the read-only status. I've been on all TS forums for 24(?) years (which is actually a quarter of a century!), but I still do not know what exact age makes a thread too old. A symbol or read-only status would be of great help.Simmerville28 days agoSeasoned Ace81Views8likes5CommentsNew Forum Oddity

On your "Update to the Forums" post it said: Site Performance: In recent weeks we’ve seen site performance is not consistently at the level it should be. "Sometimes pages wouldn’t load, errors like “community not found” and “internal server error” would appear, or folks couldn’t log in"We’ve been working behind the scenes to identify what’s been happening, andwe believe one of the main causes of this has been found and addressed this week. As ever, if you are encountering such issues, please let us know. Well I'm here to let you know that it is most definitely NOT FIXED! I have the Sims 4 Forum bookmarked: This is the Bookmark URL I've saved When I tried to access the forum today using that saved Bookmark, 2 things happened: 1 - It took me to another's profile about their Badges (Lili824 is NOT me!) I feel like that's a breach of privacy when I'm taken to someone else's profile! 2 - When I tried go Log in I got the "Couldn't Authenticate" message AGAIN. I'm, so confused by why this particular website has so many issues and not one single other website has them. I should not be logged out unless I log out myself. This is not a bank/personal information website that would time out due to privacy issues. The other forum never logged me out unless there was an update with the site or my personal PC. So, why does this one have that issue? I should not have to clear my "cache" in order to make YOUR website work. I don't have to do that for any other website. Why should I be inconvenienced by clearing the cache and browsing history from all of my other saved sites just to make YOUR site function correctly? I have not been able to post my updates in stories. I keep getting a message I've exceeded my maximum and to try again later. At least the update I was trying to post is there. (if I hit reply on the last published update, that is.) It has been suggested to me, that if I used codes-links at all, that those could be the problem. I used them three times. Twice in What Happened In Your Game Today?, thread, to let other players know I had posted updates to my story, (in Creative Corner and then a third one in WHIYGT? to let them know I had gone back to Creative Corner, since I wasn't able to find my own posts. Oi! My intention was to remove the code-links on those three posts, hoping this would clear the problem. However, I scrolled through the WHIYGT? thread and they appear to be hopelessly buried. I'm at my wit's end. I am now posting over at Sim Creatives. I will pop over here now and again, just to keep in touch, but I'm reallythat unhappy with how these threads work. I can't even bring myself to call them forums. More like random Post-it notes in which you're entirely lucky should you stumble across one of your own. Yes, I understand that this site is still undergoing construction, but a simple pardon our dust, won't cut it for me. They are unusable as things stand. My updates are stacking up and only being allowed to post one a day, will take a bit of time. And that's when I'm able to publish! So I tried to make a post in a thread in the Sims 3 forum, and the post wasn't made. So, of course, I tried to post it again, only to get this message. It is now the second time I encounter this error when trying to make a lengthy post. Now listen, the Sims community is in large part made up of people who use the game for storytelling purposes, and as such we will often make lengthy posts. I don't know if its the lenghty posts themselves that make this happen or what it is, but it just looks like this forum was created without in the slightest bit taking the Sims community into account.... In particular the Sims 3 community, you couldn't even give us sub-forums.... (holds up picket sign, shouts angrily) Edit: The health of these forums is clearly not good. I have tried several times now to make the post, and it won't let me. Yet, the post is stored so I don't have to rewrite it, which is good. Also, when logged out sometimes it fails to recognize my user, and I've had a few instances where the forum itself just won't load, getting a couple of different versions of a "This page can't be found error". as well as threads not loading and only giving me top blue bar and then a white page. I’ve been quite negative about various aspects of the forum design so far, but I just wanted to provide some positive feedback and say that I really like the page view for boards, where you click on the bolded number of posts at the top of the board! It’s so much less cluttered, and you can see many more discussions at once by scrolling down the page. And then more discussions by clicking on the next page. I think it would be a great improvement if this page view could be set to be the default for each board. And also if each thread could be displayed in the same way. When I try to re-type the text I deleted, sometimes the same thing happens again after the same letter of the same word, and sometimes not. It could be that it's being triggered by some particular combination of letters or words, so if I don't use exactly the same wording it doesn't happen? not sure about that. This happens once or twice in every forum browsing session (twice in the last 15 minutes). Okay, I’m not going to post about the glitches, missing features, and other problems in the forum itself. We all know what those are. I would just like to amplify something that maybe needs to be taken more seriously by those who decide these things, and that is this: the Sims game is completely different from the others here, and so is the Sims gaming community. I took some time to look at the boards for the other EA games on the forum, and we simmers are definitely having the most difficulty with the switch. My perspective is that forum interaction and community is directly related to the way the game is played, and the Sims is not like the others. This type of forum is fine when gameplay and community are centered around gaining levels, adding in-game allies or friends, getting performance tips, or raising gameplay related questions. Those types of interactions are the basis of the community for those types of games, because the game has structure. There’s only so much to discuss. A sandbox game like The Sims doesn’t fit in that box. The game itself is open ended. It can be anything we want it to be, and one person’s game is not like anyone else’s. That kind of player directed, open ended game requires a community format that is also open ended and user directed. It needs a loose structure that allows players to share the wide range of possibilities the game gives us. This forum cannot do this. Big, continuous topics with multiple people sharing stories and screenshots are a staple of the Sims community, and after a matter of only weeks, this forum is breaking under the weight of those long threads. On the old forum, we had topics that were years old, still going strong. Conversational topics, idea threads, creative threads and social threads are being buried under long loads, “see more” scrolling and nested replies that don’t allow a natural flow of ideas and communication. My own “Blue Moon” thread is becoming difficult to maintain because I can’t even tell where the new responses are, in order to respond back. While this forum seems to suit games like Star Wars, it is not functional for a game like the Sims and the community that plays it. The Sims is not Star Wars, and it requires a community format that recognizes the difference.cyncie2 months agoSeasoned Veteran642Views30likes22CommentsCan we have an updates on the forum-feedback?
This forum has been live for a while now, and at least from the Sims-community, the forum has gotten som harsh, but fair and well deserved, feedback by users. So my question is if we could get some updates about where we stand on those issues and when we can expect some improvements? Primarily I'd like updates on the following: Forum performance. What is being done to address the massive performance issues on the site? Pages not loading correctly, or at all, loading being slow, images not displaying as they should, the constant log outs and difficulty logging in... where do we stand on those issues? (Seriously EA cannot possibly be content with the performance) Personal avatars for all users. One of the major wishes from the community was personal avatars, to express our personality and recognise each other. Where do we stand on this? Page loading vs. pages - is there anyway to get pages back instead of infinit loading more on larger threads? Customisable feed so the thread starts in a logical way, and ways for the forum to remember where I left off instead of me having to start over each time I get back into a thread. This needs to be prioritized, longer threads are more or less unreadable at the moment. Spoiler tags on comments so to simplify loading times.JesLet402 months agoSeasoned Ace330Views19likes13CommentsIncorrect redirect

So I have quite a bit of executive dysfunction that goes along with various disabilities, and the smallest things can be insurmountable and so, so stressful - and stress can exacerbate my disabilities so, that's not good. In any case. I read about how to be a hero, on the forums. I would love a personal profile picture, as everyone would! But honestly I do not have the ability mentally or emotionally to do what it takes to be a hero. In any sense, in real life or on the forums. Tbh I'm crying a bit lol. It really has highlighted my deficits. I'm not saying that the system should be changed for me. But I do think that maybe there are others with similar issues, and it's an accessibility issue. Because with certain disabilities, we do not have the ability to do the thing, we do not have access to the thing. So maybe certain things could be thought of in different terms as far as what can be available for everyone. I didn't really know where to post this. I hope it's ok.SolvedLaunchSneezes2 months agoSeasoned Veteran438Views7likes13Comments
