Can't redeem Dead Space 2 steam CD key on origin

I want to access the multiplayer content of Dead Space 2 but it gives me the description "Failed to connect to EA servers" when I log with my EA account. I have tried redeeming the steam CD key of Dead Space 2 on my origin account but it says invalid code when I do so.
