"What a difference a day makes" or so the song says.
I started this thread 8 months ago & Im still alive today. If I only knew then what I know now...
Despite all our collective complaints back then, I have managed to build over 100 Omega buildings, all but 3 are max upgraded. My storage is at 65, my NeoBank is at 85,000, I earn over 20,000 NS a day. I don't spend any simcash on omega anymore, although I have in the past. And although many things about Omegaland, and the overall game, continue to bother me, I find that the things most complained about make the game challenging.
Imagine if all of the complaints were fixed & the game played exactly as you wanted it to. No waiting for needed items in the marketplace, the ability to sell Omega items for more than just peanuts, no limits to NeoBank & storage capacities, no simcash allowed, unlimited land available...would you still continue to play? What if no one got a head start in the COM? When you woke up Wednesday morning, everybody had 0. Think about it
People make it sound like spending real money on this is a crime or a sin. Last I checked, it wasn't. And people bash EA for making money. Again I checked & they are not a non-profit company and do not require real money spent to play. It's not a bait & switch, hard to stay in business if you give away your product free. Can't go to the movies for free or a baseball game. And I'm sure most of us would not go to work if we weren't getting paid
What I've learned in the past 8 months is how to deal with this game's issues. The game can be brutal, draining your resources, sucking the life out of you. We cuss at EA, claiming they are the evil empire, the dark star. We all have our complaints, thoroughly documented, ad nauseum in these forums. It feels good to know that others are having the same problems that we are, and that too grows old after awhile. Although each of our cities are the most important things in the world to us, maybe not so to others. I assume that people who are negative in their postings, are probably negative with their lives...
If 7000 is too much much to pay for canisters, build up your simoleans before going back to omega. I started Onegaville with 1,000,000 simoleans, having committed to it & not wanting the 7k to hold me back. The Omega utilities increase in 10k increments, the controlnet & drones basically double. BTW, the storage & NeoBank capacity increases are the same for everyone. In other words, if you are at 40 in storage, whatever the pieces required to get to the next level are the same for every player trying to do the same! And I think that this is tied into the perceived shortage or difficulty in obtaining certain pieces at certain times. I have noticed for a long time that certain items were difficult to obtain, with pieces rotating almost on a weekly basis in terms of scarcity. For example, right now I have 0 hover boards & every property to be upgraded is requiring them. So I just sit and wait, knowing that in a few days this will change
So despite all the things wrong with this game & those mean old developers who only want our money, I will hit 4 million sims by tomorrow. I have 120 epic buildings, 100 Omega buildings, 300 gold rings with nothing to spend them on. When the game frustrated me, I stop playing for awhile. And no I am not paid by EA, nor am I an EA apologist
Yes the sun is always shining in my world, the sky is blue, birds are singing. My cup is always half full...I recommend that you try it some time
Thats my rant...
