Re: How can we overwrite synced cities on the cloud/GameCenter?

I received the following answer when asking to wipe my city:

Because of the way your Player ID and social connection IDs mesh together the first time they are connected, there is no way for us to delete those individual Facebook or Google Play saves from your city. If there's a social connection you haven't made yet (e.g. you connected with Facebook but not Google Play), you can still use the unused connection to save the progress of your new city instead. It's important to remember not to connect again with the original social account, as your current city will be overwritten with your previously saved data. Unfortunately there is no way to retrieve your original city if it's been overwritten.

  • The problem I'm having now is I WANT to overwrite the city that is connected to my Game Center ID. I had been playing on my phone, but wanted to sync with my iPad, and logged in with Game Center instead of with Facebook (where I had connected with on my phone, but seemingly forgot!), so I had to go through the tutorial again to sync to Facebook. Now I still can't connect to Game Center after deleting the data, hoping that my original city could sync over Game Center. Any ideas? Would love to see a fix for this issue... Not a security issue, EA. It's a huge inconvenience.

I'm logged into my Facebook account on both devices but the games haven't sync'd... In my mind it should sync the original game with most progress, but is that wishful thinking?  This is really a cause of concern, it shouldn't be so prohibitive.

I linked to game center on my iPad first, and it won't let me link to it from my iPhone... there seems to be a disconnect here, like what are we doing wrong?  Why won't two games on two devices both linked to Facebook sync to one or the other?  Why are there two separate games on two devices on one account?  That's not right.

    My question is:

Is this an EA policy or Apple iOS / Android policy? In other words, do the security policies of those companies require the non-deletion of data?

I have multiple iOS devices, but would like to see something that recognizes an iPhone city and something that allows an additional iPad city.

This is a really big flaw.  I play boom beach, clash and sim city. The other two games are synced perfectly and if I pick up one device and progress the other device follows. If I start on a new device then once logged into game centre I get to choose which base to load and the most recent is always there.

With sim sim city I have the game on an iPhone and iPad but despite being logged into game centre on both with the same account I am unable to load the most recent city on the iPad. What a crock. It has nothing to do with security. If all the other games can do it why not sim city EA?

come on, people are spending big money on in-app purchases. The least you can do is fix this!

    Hi everybody,

I had the same problem for sync my cities between iPhone 5, iPad and iPhone 6s.

To solve my problem and not lost my data, I installed the SimCity In all devices, inside the game not have option to sync your city, so, play a new city until level 2, when you can visit others cities into facebook, put your login and connect into your facebook account.

When connect, inside the simcity will prompt about which city you prefer play and click ok.

Ready! Your city became for your device without lost data.

So the ONLY (and I mean ONLY) way to fix this is to create a new Game Center account, which really isn't a big deal at all.  The best step by step resource to do this can be found here...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afsvpZWwWpE.

Once you do this, you may have to re-name your current game before it'll let you save to the new Game Center account...at least I had to.  You may even need to try it a couple times, but it should eventually save your game to the new Game Center account.  Make sure you log out of the game before logging in with new device...

On the new device, be sure to delete Sim City, and log into the new Game Center account via Settings --> Game Center.  Re-download and open Sim City through the Game Center app.  You should see your game as it was last saved!!

    Enjoy!!

  • I got a new android phone and obviously i want to continue playing the games I usually play - like boom beach, clash of clans and simcity buildit. For the Supercell games it works flawlessly between the two devices (my old phone and my new phone), but simcity buildit gives me the following error when I try and log in with google play: Sorry Mayor! This account is already linked to another city. We cannot log you in to this account.

So I made a new Google + account and tried again but got the same error. Has this problem still not been fixed yet EA????

Why is this thread marked as SOLVED when it clearly isn't in the slightest bit solved on Android???
